We've had a few duffers for sure. But at £20 mill for a CB you would expect something a bit special.... Which makes him seem even worse.

Oh god I'd forgotten about Kvarme, he was dreadful
Yeah I guess that's all trueOriginally posted by Daniel 7 View PostYeah, there will always be squaddies that could be thrown into the mix, but given that Lovren was signed as a £20m first teamer and defensive leader (allegedly), then he has to go down in history as a worst ever contender.
...and Djimi Traore? Like you said, that was the European Cup Final - imagine being that standard a player, knowing how hopelessly out of your depth you are and how your body will have seized up with nerves, its understandable

Lol I remember being at Anfield when we played Valencia with Diao in our side, it was like somehow George Weah's "cousin" had gotten into another prem team, so ****Originally posted by Rowan View PostPlus Kozma once tore Chesterfield apart so has one magic moment in his locker.
and Diouf, Dioa, Cheyrou (aside from his Chelsea moment) are all up there too. Salif Dioa
what the ****?
Unless you compare him to David Luiz of course, £50mOriginally posted by Buzzo View PostWe've had a few duffers for sure. But at £20 mill for a CB you would expect something a bit special.... Which makes him seem even worse.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Yup. Phone just wasn't having it. Auto correct loves Dioa whoever the **** that isOriginally posted by Pepe79 View Post*Diao. All terrible signings but non of them are contenders for worst defender.
Kvarme was another horror show at CB, though he did at least look decent for his first half dozen games which makes him better than Lovren.
**** you, AppleA lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

To be fair to Lovren, the last 4 games he's played, we've kept 4 clean sheets. Since he came back into the side in February, we've kept 5 clean sheets from 7 he's started, only conceded 2 goals and only lost 1 of those 7.
I know people will argue this is why statistics are useless etc. and that he was lucky to keep a clean sheet, but if those stats continue for the remainder of the season, talk of our worst defender ever will surely be a bit silly. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Who were the opposition in those games? Blackburn twice and Newcastle? Maybe I'm being unfair but I'll hold back on the praise a little longer.Originally posted by RedReet View PostTo be fair to Lovren, the last 4 games he's played, we've kept 4 clean sheets.
