We had about 20 demon songs lined up to be chanted from the terraces if he'd been even half way decent.

He's ****e. He had a horrendous season. Every aspect of his game was found wanting - so far no upside with signing Lovren.

i would say clyne is going to be the most consistent of our back four.

TBF he tends to isolate himself, that's 1 of the many defensive issues.

I disagree, Lovren was clearly the worst of our defenders last season. Caught out of position countless times seemingly unaware of where he should be on the pitch, he made Skrtel look like the very model of consistency and outstanding Centre Back play.

At 25, he is still very young as a defender. He probably needs a very vocal partner with him, not Skrtel.

Of course it's young, especially for a defender. When we got trounced at Stoke, did Lovren play that day? We had other issues than just Lovren being a complete catastrophe. Obviously, people like to pinpoint players for all the ills of the team, so I'm not surprised.

I see, your right and I'm wrong - thanks for clearing that up, appreciate the patronising tone

We do/did have other issues, and if you are highlighting just the Stoke game for me that was the managers fault, persevering with Can at right back whilst we shipped 5 goals in 45 minutes. Fundamentally the problems lie or lay with our manager, but I've decided to stop posting negatively about him for now.

However Lovren isn't of the quality we require, a point I am sure he will back up if he gets any game time next season.
