Thanjk you.

Huge difference to his game since he has started hoofing much more regularly. Focused more on defending than playing the ball has so clearly helped him.
like has been said , let a defender defend and we have stopped that pointless football at the back that eventually we just hoof out of play anyhow

It was just so obvious though, galling really, Rodgers needs to update his manual next time he takes a job, it will be interesting to see how he does and what he changes.
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

A manager needs to have his balance right and nowadays I don't really see any footballing centrebacks except the barca two who take risks at the back.

Hes doing the basics right more often now
I thought he played well last night but I thought Sakho was absolutely immense
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Exactly this.
I understand the theory against clearing lines but the caveat is you can regroup and thus have banks of players behind the ball making it easier defend.
That is clearly - to me anyway - having players ill-equipped, hesitating about how and where to play to was horrendous to watch. It also encourages the opposition to counter press the defense, exacerbating errors.
Anyway, thankfully with the likes of Sakho we don't really play hoof ball from the back, but if the scenario calls for it i'm glad its now an option rather than the dogmatic instruction to always play out even when its suicide.

the amount of times we used to do this and let teams gain an advantage from it , I used to think all our defenders were certain for the chop under Jurgen but not so sure now
He's great. My Nesta comparison earlier in the season wasn't far wrong. Any bad performance from him now will just look like an off day rather than being the norm. Helps that the problem he had to play next to for most of his time here has been removed, he was good with Sakho the few times he played with him under Brendan aswell then he bizarrely split it up straight away!
I'm actually damned confident with our backline, even Mig, going into the Southampton game. Southampton will have to do bloody well to score against us, not sure I can remember when I had that feeling. Not even during that golden season with Suarez.
