It's not like superstition that can't really have any effect, it can focus and motivate our opponents. There's absolutely nothing to gain from coming out with statements like that

Or result in wimps on internet forums predicting a 1-0 defeat?

It's impossible to put pressure on a team when you have a manager who can just laugh it all off so convincingly
Totally. Its all ****e. Our desperation to find outrage and prepare a scapegoat for when we eventually lose is relentless if and when we finally lose a match what anyone said in the press will have **** all to do with it.

As soon as a game kicks off it is purely about performance.

I'd imagine Klopp will perhaps say something privately as it's not his style at all to be arrogant, but the fact that it is something the players are aiming for is admirable.

It won't happen tho, and I fear for the reaction on here when we finally do drop points.

The agenda and comments about Lovren on here are utterly tedious.

If he scores a hat trick of own goals and gets sent off on Friday, I reckon there's more than a few people who would be doing somersaults of delight at feeling so vindicated.
          Oh I don't know.

These statements are usually followed up by a plethora of mistakes by Dejan. Of course it won't magically make us **** or lose but ffs he finds it hard not to open his big gob.

Ok, so when our opponents say something and 'that'll be pinned up on the dressing room wall' or 'he's done our pre match motivation for us' gets said then it's also crap is it?

We're top of the league largely with Lovren absent from the team. Could be argued that we've improved without him in the team. If there's anger aimed at him because he makes a match losing mistake after once again blowing his own trumpet then it's deserved, not agenda driven

Are they though? That just feels a bit "Sky Sports News" sensationalism.

Hopefully no one is desperate enough to do the analysis on that but I bet if they did that actually wouldn't be the case.

                        I think it is.

That whole press cuttings on the wall chat is totally cliched. But even if it happens, how does that make any material difference in performance? If motivation were that easy..? And even still, we should still be good enough to win, we should be more motivated.

All that happened here is Lovren was asked if he thought we could go the season without losing and he answered that he did.

Lacking the diplomacy to dodge having to answer, what is he supposed to say? “No, I think we will lose at some point”. I think we forget that these guys are answering questions in a second language with a press corp desperate to manufacture an angle.

But in reality the only place this kind of stuff matters is on forums.

He makes mistakes in nearly every game so I think i'm correct

                              He clearly doesn't.

He clearly does. Every game. Although it doesn't always result in a goal.
