Klopp will probably laugh in Lovren's face, slap him, and then hug him very tightly.

Ken don't make me copy and paste some of your Markovic comments. Get off that high horse pal. Actually we have had this conversation before aswell where you gave me stick for criticising someone & i pointed out to you that you are not exactly squeaky clean yourself.

Anyways nobody is saying the keeper didn't make a massive cock up, it was a huge **** up but fact is Lovren made no challenge to block cross was a error by any defenders standards and in relation to the subject of the conversation. It was pointed out by the pundits after the game too so i'm not pulling this out of thin air. You let a cross in and there is more likelihood of a goal than not letting the cross in.

Lovren was part of an amazing defence last season, even with Karius behind him. He has improved beyond recognition since Klopp cane in.

He makes occasional mistakes, but if you look at it that way Alisson has made two howlers this season - should we also be on his case?

Whatever floats particular boats I guess.

Also I reckon Salah plays better when Lovren is in the team
No scapegoat buzz, a tongue in cheek conversation turned sideways into a serious one. Well in relation to me anyways.

And he was at fault for not closing that cross down imo & said by panel on tv aswell post match. No abuse, scapegoat, agenda etc just facts.

Actually here's the full text of the article and it's actually quite a decent interview. The discussed part is in bold:

Dejan Lovren says Liverpool are in a three-way battle for the Premier League title – and is under no illusions regarding the task of dethroning champions Manchester City.
The Reds continued their best start to a league campaign with a 3-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp's side remain unbeaten after 17 games and lead the table by a point ahead of City, with Tottenham Hotspur a further five points adrift.
City bounced back from their first defeat of the league campaign at Chelsea by beating Everton at the Etihad on Saturday to temporarily take over top spot.
And Lovren acknowledges Pep Guardiola's men remain the team to beat.
“I'm not sure that they have any weaknesses,” said the Reds defender. “Last year they won by 19 points. They know how to manage even when they lose.
“They also lost one or two games last year. Still they managed to be 19 points ahead.
“It doesn't mean anything. There are so many games in front of us and in front of them. It will be a tight race and it's not only City. Tottenham is only a couple of points behind.
“You cannot sit and enjoy and say: 'We have five or six points in front of everyone'. It doesn't work like that. Every game for us is a final.”
Liverpool have the chance to open up a four-point gap on City when they travel to in-form Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night.
Lovren, though, has echoed the words of several team-mates in choosing to ignore Guardiola's side.
“Look, there's a competition,” he said. “This is what we want, but we don't look at who is in front of us or behind us.
“It's just about us. It's more about how we train, how we do on the pitch and the result will come. There are quite a lot of games still to go but we go game-by-game.
“City won on Saturday so on Sunday we had pressure. It can be from both ways a positive thing. We will not look back, we will just look forward.”
Lovren was making only his fifth Premier League appearance of the season at the weekend.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold and James Milner joining Joe Gomez and Joel Matip on the sidelines, Nathaniel Clyne was given a first league start of the season at right-back.
And Lovren believes the impressive performance from the England international underlines how Klopp now has a squad of players capable of stepping in at short notice.
“I think there are quite a lot of players who have been for a couple of seasons now with Jurgen,” he said.
“We know and he knows what we need to do so there's not too much to say, especially for Clyney.
“When you look back, he didn't play for I don't know how many months and he did a fantastic game.
“This is important, and of course it's important to keep this momentum and to enjoy this moment.
“Hopefully there won't be many injuries because we need everyone. Today, even the 25th player is important.”
Liverpool are the only Premier League team still unbeaten this season and capable of matching Arsenal's Invincibles of 2003-04.
“Hopefully we can be unbeaten until the end of the season,” said Lovren. “Of course it will be a challenge but this is what we want, this is why we came here to Liverpool, because we know we can do it.
“Is it possible? Arsenal did it before so why not?"

With respect, I don’t see how saying Markovic is ****e, a guy who barely kicked a ball for us is comparable to relentlessly going after Lovren a player who was a huge part of our run to the CL final and his countries run to the WC Final.

Lovren has become a top class centre back, clearly when Brendan was here this was not the case. But to continually slate him when he really hasn’t done much wrong is a bit boring.

Big Virgil made a howler in the first few minutes against City in the CL last year. All defenders will make mistakes.

            ... except Robbo obviously.

That is a good interview and what he has said is not sensational at all. He is really respectful and composed throughout. Pure spin from the press.

                    I'm going to bite Dom

I don't rate Lovren but I also don't think his comments will have any impact whatsoever on the result. My gripe is that his performances on the pitch don't warrant the crap he spouts - one of the best defender in the world, we might go unbeaten....blah blah blah. I'd prefer him to shut up and prove it on the pitch. Maybe he is just a very self confident lad with poor media training who lacks humility.

Lallana is another one - I'm back, fully fit, raring to go....like a new signing........missing for 3 weeks.... Just keep your mouth shut and get on with it.

Maybe it's the club's fault for allowing these guys to give interviews, maybe the others just don't want to who knows but they are annoying as **** with their comments.

I actually didn't even see the "top class" comment. Wow

Read the interview above - he didn’t say anything controversial. The word ‘hopefully’ seems to have been missed in the various outlets that have taken the story on. He mainly talks about how good City are.

I agree though, even if he had been overly cocky it doesn’t affect the game.

He has though. Look at the games v City last year. You can’t ignore his contribution to a defence that has conceded very little.

                                He played well against Utd.

                                He played well against Bournemouth.

                                He played well against Burnley.

Is there some Croat Irish thing I’m not aware of
