But Markovic will not have a clue how to play that role up front and will get in everyone's way much like Balotelli does. It has to be Balo and Borini. Sterling also needs a rest so Coutinho in his place.

I like Ballotelli as a guy but he's useless in our system. Obviously when Sturridge is fit I'd expect him to replace Ballotelli but I think it would be a risk worth taking for at least 45 mins. If it didn't work change the system at HT or make a change.

It's amazing how little chances we've created in our last 4/5 games.

I think we should try something a bit different tomorrow because we're really struggling. I would like to see us play 4-1-2-1-2 with the following team:

      Mig
      Man-Skr-Lov-Mor
      Lucas
      Hendo-Lallana
      Sterling
      Borini-Markovic

Now I know there's a few contentious ideas there but let me explain...

Lucas - playing the ball forward quickly into feet to Hendo/Lallana/Sterling and should be fresher than Gerrard.

Borini - we need pace and movement up top and somebody to press from the front. Hopefully forcing them to play it long and us to win the ball and get back at them quickly.

Markovic - now I know this is very much out there, but a bold gamble like this could work very well. He showed some really good movement and runs against Basel and we know he's got great pace, so providing he pressed high (like I said about Borini) I think he could grab a goal. Three fast and pressing forwards would be very dangerous in my opinion.

That said, I know that Rodgers will play Gerrard and Balotelli and we'll continue to struggle to score and get overrun in midfield. I think he needs to have the bottle to make a couple of big decisions to be honest.

The rumour on twitter is that Lambert is starting, with Balotelli on the bench.
That rug really tied the room together.

I think I'm going to go to the cinema this afternoon, don't think I can bring myself to watch this. It's going to be a horror show.

The one where we don't track midfield runners and the keeper refuses to leave his line.

Don't wave to the fans as asked = Benched? even when adding in below par performances its a bold/brave/dumb move because Lambert is a slug and suits our style even less.

Not going to bother with this as well. Too many things to do and don't want to be agonising with this **** today.

I have it from a good source that Balotelli is in the bench and Lambert starts today.

If true we've gone from Suarez and Sturridge up front to Rickie Lambert. I know Sturridge is injured but it kinda shows the predicament we're in goal wise.

Lambert needs mobile players around him. He ain't going to run in behind. Playing with another striker would be the best way to use him, but it seems Rodgers has other ideas.

                            Lallana will support him.

Or maybe plain someone close to him. Thing is that if Henderson still has to play so deep beside Gerrard.. we are going to have a hole in the midfield.

Lambert will be better at pressing than Balotelli but this isn't a game for a target man who's legs are going.
