They didn't play any better against us, we just let them play how they wanted and any other team would have beaten us comfortably. I found it embarrassing.

Whose defence is worse? Maybe Sunderland & Burnley. QPR kept us at bay quite easily.

They showed guts in the last 5 minutes- what about the previous 85?
What you don't get is that when teams face Liverpool they're all chomping at the bit. If that was West Brom QPR were facing they wouldn't have been that motivated. It's tough playing for LFC. You have to be right up for it every game & there's no hiding places. Our games are on TV almost every week and all the opposition players will know exactly what they're up against. It takes a special type of player to play for LFC & it definitely takes some getting used too.

Bobby Zamora did what Jamie Vardy did against the Mancs. Played like his life depended on it. Every player in this league is a very good player, the difference is some consistently play well every week, whilst others can only play well every once in a while. If Skrtel & Lovren were a partnership for a lower side they'd look first class, much in the same way Shawcross & Huth or Dann & Johnson looked like great players for Stoke & Birmingham in the past. It's different gravy at the top though.
    Forwards.......

No, I completely understand that- but a team like ours should be performing better than we did today. It wasn't how well QPR played, it was ho **** we played to allow them to beat us to every ball

It was an awful game but there some positives, albeit in a few moments rights at the end. Loved the desire we showed to win the game, especially from Coutinho and Sterling, flashes of last season.

This. Nobody will be shocked to hear me say it, but I think Balotelli is awful and performances like today are exactly what I was worried about before he signed. Partly he isn't remotely suited to how we play, and partly he is... or has been... enormously overrated. His judgement is diabolical, if he had anything other going through his head other than "me get ball, me shoot" he would immediately be a far better prospect. The strike partner thing is a red herring where it comes to lashing the ball into the stands every chance he gets and completely failing to make the right runs. He's a better marketed Papis Cisse and we cannot afford to be carrying a guy like this. Lambert or Borini with Sturridge out please, at least they can pick out a colleague.

Otherwise today, Enrique and Johnson hardly took their chances, Can has a lot to learn in this league, and that was easily Coutinho's best 20 mins of the season.

Can we play Spurs every week?

Cannot understand what has happened to the very basic elements of our game. Look like 11 strangers on the pitch and the lack of desire/fight is quite scary really. Having said that, we have such a pacey counter attack and the potential in the team is still there.

Oh, and as much as I miss Luis, I really miss Dagger.

Seems like there's only one formation we can play well and suits our best players.

Finally time to reflect on th game:

Thought Johnson would have a better game than he did. I think I pushed a through with a fart when I saw Zamora was going to play, he always scores against us and generally gives us a hard time. Anyway, the ratings:

Mignolet - 8 - at last a worthy performance specially in the face of ****e defending
Johnson - 6 - expected more but at least tried his trademark run and shots
Skrtel - 5 - would have been a 4 but he saved us
Lovren - 3 - he didn't save us, at all, or do anything decent defensively
Enrique - 4 - arse, block, arse, block, does he offer anything else except his big fat arse?
Can - 5 - often found jogging when defence were in dire trouble, no second ball winning when Zamora was giving Lovren a hard time
Henderson - 6 - some overhit passes but generally better than others
Gerrard - 6 - offered the only composure in the team, his legs look gone though which is a worry for us this season
Lallana - 5 - probably tired from internationals but allowed be owned by Onuha
Balotelli - 3 - atrocious footballing brain and no confidence, totally unreliable as a player
                Sterling - 8 - I still can't believe he's under 23, or 22, or 21 or even 20.

                Subs:

Coutinho - 8 - awesome impact as a sub. That's what we need from him (sub or starter)
Allen - 6 - not as much of an impact as Coutinho but still made us more solid
Lambert - 9 - for not coming on, even for Balotelli

Rodgers: 7 - I liked how he used Gerrard up front first, then pulled him back in the second half thus confusing any opposition tactics. Also correct subs at the correct time. Nothing he can do with players like Lovren/Skrtel/Enrique/Balotelli in a single match scenario.

If we are in reflection mode....QPR's treatment of Sterling throughout the match was scandalous in went virtually unpunished...

I thought the ref and linesman were still better than others have been with him. As a result Sterling got the booing because they thought he was getting 'easy' free kicks. A weaker ref would have let them go. We scored from one of those 'easy' fouls.

But yes QPR were scandalous nevertheless. They won't be alone, unfortunately.

Yep, it's ****ing crazy, he was incredible in that last few minutes, everyone going mentally hectic and theres the teenager just taking it all in and doing his thing. (days after a hammering in the media no less aswell)

I went to bed at HT as that was as bad a half of football as I can remember.

I expected a lucky 1-0 win at best but more likely a loss so a major surprise to see 5 goals were scored tbh.

Don't watch the second half, you'll wish you never woke up and I wouldn't want that.

Especially regarding Mignolet. He did save us in the second half, but if Fer took advantage of his **** up we'd all be signing a different tune. Also his unwillingness to get off of his line causes unease in the entire backline. Even when he's good he's bad - the sooner he goes the better.

If he never comes off his line how would that cause unease and uncertainty? Surely the CBs would know it's their ball and they've got to deal with it.
