I don't think Joe Allen is anything special but I was quite impressed with him in that second half. He used a bit of intelligence to open up the midfield and tried to pass/move/be available for the pass. The rest of the side is so bad at doing it that even a mediocre attempt stands out.

For me he's got a role to play in our midfield. I would play him alongside Lallana with Gerrard behind. I would drop Henderson for now as he's projecting a really cowardice approach to the game.

Fair comment. Two defeats wouldn't be against the grain, but two heavy defeats certainly wouldn't help our morale.

          no we didnt

We passed the ball well, the options in front of the ball were good. We didn't create as much today as we would have liked.

          no we didnt

if the next two games are proper canings i dont think we will have too much

Rodgers: We will improve. Difference is the coaching time available.

we had plenty of coaching time last year but still couldnt get the basics right.

Ricky is not a poor striker. He's it double figures in the two premier league seasons he's had. He's better than the other two.

Henderson is so negative sometimes. Argh it's really frustrating. Just wouldn't drive into the space. At least Joe Allen did that a bit for us.
This is clear double standards. If Johnson made that shocking error that Moreno did for the goal, he'd be crucified.

Moreno had a terrible game and defensively he was a worry. two or three times he just stood completely off the winger and allowed him to loft a cross in easily. If he had a right foot he would have been able to clear that ball rather than nudge it into the path of Perez.

you cant see us containing real madrid at all, if we lose by less than 4 it will be a miracle. chelsea will have too much power for us and you can see them getting a few as well.

ancelotti will go about his business as usual and they play their own game, but chelsea will attack us at our weakest points. that is what makes mourinho a phenomenal manager. he knows exactly how to beat teams and this year he has all the tools to do it.

You see new managers come in and set up a strong defence as their priority knowing that they can get points on the board with a goal on the counter or against the run of play. Rodgers has come in, drilled in an attacking mentality and he's suddenly asking his players to do the complete opposite. I can't see that happening overnight.

We are equally weak allover the pitch.

My point was that for 70 minutes he was one of our better performers but there were others who were letting the team down and caused the us to be in the predicament we were. In a way, their performances dragged him down and caused him to be in the situations he found himself in. If the rest of the tema played with Moreno's postivity, we would have been winning by that point.

                              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

There are a few examples that jump to mind of extreme changes in playing style, but that includes a change in management.

Koeman is a recent example. Brendan is in his third year though, having spent 120 million this summer.
