We'll have to agree to disagree, but not for the first time Moreno's refusal to use his right foot has directly cost a goal. While you can say it was the other players , equally i can say that its just as likely if Moreno clears it with his right, then the game is 0-0 and we finish one point better off.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostYou're still not seeing the bigger picture. We were in the position we were in because of other players on the pitch.
Also to clarify, there were a ton of **** performances today, not just Moreno, but i don't see how he shoud 'not be to blame at all'Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

I really wish we had though, we'd almost certainly be in a much better position than we are nowOriginally posted by Muddled View PostYeah, we haven't quite nailed this transfer malarkey yet. I don't think it's perfect, but I completely understand why we haven't gone and out and bought Fabregas, Falcao and Di Maria.

There's nothing there, there's nothing there. What is there there? What is there? There's no movement, there's nothing, there was just nothing.Originally posted by DeanoUK View PostListen to me now, before someone says it. There were NO positives in that performance. None. Don't even go there.

Carroll £35m failure
Lallana £25m jury's out
Suarez £22.8m success
Torres £20.2m success
Lovren £20m jury's out
Markovic £19.8m jury's out
Keane £19m failure
Mascherano £18.6m success
Downing £18.5m failure
Johnson £17.5m success
Aquilani £17.1m failure
Balotelli £16m jury's out
Henderson £16m success
Allen £15m jury's out
Sakho £15m jury's out
For me that's 5 successes, 4 failures and the jury is still out on 6. The most spectacular successes are the high profile players (Suarez, Torres etc) and the spectacular failures are mostly the ones that people could have predicted (Carroll, Downing etc). I think we seriously need to look at our scouting and how we identify potential targets, it's not just about how much they cost or wages, we really need to think about whether they would fit into our system. There is no point in spending big on a great player if they won't fit into the system, we wouldn't play to their strengths or we are going to play them out of position, which is something we have been guilty of on numerous occasions in recent years.Last edited by Exiled_red; 02-11-14, 12:11 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I acknowledge that this is the case, but it's an excuse and at the end of the day we should be putting teams like Newcastle away regardless. It's an uncontrollable variable and we can't rely on things like that to get us through.Originally posted by captainfog View PostI don't think it's been mentioned in the thread but while it was still 0-0 Newcastle should have had two players sent off.

We are lazy
It takes the back four an age to get the ball forward to a man is space, and an age to run back to defend.
The midfield have nobody to push the ball through to score and we have no competent strikers. And the scoring ability of our midfield is generally woeful.
We have no talisman anymore and rely on a 19 year old who simply cannot cut it week in week out.
Completely out of ideas in ALL areas, on and off the pitch.

The tackle on Mario was ridiculous - an absolute stonewall straight red for violent conduct. You could see from Pardew's reaction that he thought their player was going to be sent off. If the roles had been reversed Mario would have certainly seen red.Originally posted by captainfog View PostI don't think it's been mentioned in the thread but while it was still 0-0 Newcastle should have had two players sent off.Cult Member.
