Really poor performance last night. Hard to find any positive other than at least our defence were not a complete mess, and if it wasn't for a **** decision by Moreno in the box, we would likely have kept the clean sheet.

Attacking wise we have nothing to offer really. We looked more lively when Borini came in and made some runs at the defense, and behind the defensive line - other than that hard to find much positive to take away.

We really need to stop playing the long balls when all we have is Sterling with some flair. It was fine last season when Sturridge, Suarez and him all could do something quick and unpredicted, but now... We need to start building up differently as this is not working out.

We are far to easy to read and close down unfortunatly.

We beat them 6-0 last year. While I agree with what you're saying I would still expect a win with the players we have available without them being a man down.

That was the season before last.

Last season our games against them ended in a 2-2 at their place and a 2-1 at Anfield
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Very interesting stuff from Carra and Neville on the Newcastle goal. Carra passionately defending Moreno and putting the blame on Lovren.

Him and Neville with differing views on Lovren's positioning.

I thought the bit about Borini and Coutinho highlighted what we all know in that the players are not working hard enough when we lose possession.

although that was the year before last, i agree completely with you. Had we scraped a win at newcastle, don't get me wrong it would have been great, but it would have given us a false sense of security with our points tally.

What was really frustrating is that Newcastle didnt have to play well to beat us. We were terrible. And then you have the likes of Micky Quinn on the radio prasing Pardew. It was crazy. In reality they were shocking and looking at the performances in the league over the whole weekend, they would have got beat by about 12 teams in the league that day, draw with about 4 and won against 4 - it just so happens that we were one of the 4 teams they would have beat.

What is also frustrating is that a lot of LFC fans were saying that Balotelli should not start on his own up top - that Borini should have been alongside him with Sterling / Coutinho in the hole behind. And what happens, Brendan knows best and goes with the lone striker. We may as well have started with 10 men. It was horrendous and when we played a bit better when Borini came on was just another kick in the balls.

I have to admit I tend to agree with Carra

Not sure what the **** Lovren is doing stepping out before the ball is even played

I mentioned at the time, 'where is Lovren going'? - his movement in the run in to the goal is both unpredictable and bizarre. Its a crap clearance from Moreno for sure - but I suspect Lovren is the one causing panic. He fundamentally does not appear to understand the position - and that is causing uncertainty among the back 5.

He needs time out of the team to reassess his position, and perhaps time watching us play from the sidelines will assist him.

Yep. But it's disconcerting that Rodgers tonight seems to be resting what he sees as our big hitters - Sterling, Gerrard, and...........LOVREN!
