Its frustrating watching the team. We are persisting with the same tactics that have got us nowhere this season and its down to just self belief / stubborness that everything will eventually be ok.

I totally agree mate that the system that seems to suit us best is the diamond with 2 in attack, but despite having borini its never been tried. But we keep putting balotelli up front on his own when he has shown many times he cant play without a partner.

The most worrying factor for me is the midfield. Our midfield cant do anything right, its defensively poor, there's no creation in there at all and it doesn't close down the opposition. Chelsea played through the middle of the park with ease over and over again.

Gerrard, Henderson and Can offered no resistance at all.

We are as open now as when we play the diamond there is no difference imo

Our attacking play is none existent though under the current system

Sturridge will be back next game and everything will be ok.

Our problems are a lot deeper than Sturridge coming back but you'll get many fans thinking the midfield and defence will miraculously sort itself out when he does return.

His form was reportedly better at AC Milan than it was throughout his time at City anyway. His scoring ratio certainly was.

You said Balotelli was "just what we needed" when he was signed, but now with the benefit of hindsight you're criticising Rodgers for signing a "****e striker".

My biggest concern right now is how we get money for Lovren, Balloteli, and Lambert who are never good enough for our club. Lovren was hopeless today. So was Henderson who is woefully out if form. Pressure on Rodgers now. Seems we spent 100m without strengthening the spine of Keeper, Centre half, defensive mid, striker. Shockingly all four positions need a quality player.

Very bright start today but faded off badly and genuine concerns about our season now. Too many passengers and even Henderson looks like the waste of money many screamed a few years ago. So so disappointed but I fear it will be the story this season. Truth is we are simply not good enough and the quantity over quality approach to the transfer window has been a near catastrophe.

Balotelli got a kick in the teeth today. He worked hard an struggles playing as a lone striker. Then he was afforded only 5 mins with a strike partner and then got replaced for the bloke who's happy to play up front on his own.

Forget replacing Suarez, we should have spent a decent wedge this summer on someone to replace Gerrard. Sadly it seems the toll of almost single handedly carrying so many Liverpool teams, his body is seriously struggling to cope with it all (made worse the lack of quality around him right now).

What pisses me off the most is the endless, slow dicking around with the ball in defence. Why do it FFS drives me round the bend!!

In addition to this. I lost count of the amount of times the ball goes back to defence or to the GK. There were numerous occasions today where a midfielder could have turned and gone on the offensive, only Coutinho and Can seemed to be positive in their play but instead they go back the way. Moreno had it in the middle of the park at one point, no pressure and smashed it straight back to Mig!

Don't make excuses for him mate he's ****ing ****.

He offers absolutely zero for this team, zero.

His movement is ****, his temperament is ****, he's brainless. He's a pussy, as soon as he's kicked he holds his right leg even if it's his left leg that's been kicked.

He's a ****ing ***** Norbs. He does pretty much zero tracking back, hardly any pressing and never gets into any decent attacking positions. The only thing he's seemingly improved on is that he has stopped ****ting shots into the stands from 40 yards.
