What kind of a message does this send though? Play well and you'll be rewarded by a place on the bench so Johnson can start? It always seemed Rodgers' team selections were based on merit, not sure what is happening this season. Emre Can did everything to deserve another start, Moreno made a few errors but he was never nearly as bad as Johnson... Eh **** it, it's about time we thrash someone properly, hopefully Coutinho, Sterling and Lallana have a really good game.Comment

back 4 looks like a ****in car crash. Hopefully Lovren can show why he was signed for 20m - show some ****in leadership and own that part of the field.....
gerrard in defensive midfield - what could possibly go wrong.
Will be interesting to see how Lallana and Allen can get on playing together...... hendersons form this year hasn't been good but we will see if that midfield trio have enough legs....
coutinho - i hope to fock he is playing as the #10 behind sterling and lambert.....we will see but i feel that coutinho is most effective when he has runners in front of him......i wouldnt be sad to see Coutinho deeper and lallana in an advanced role......
lambert......it's ****in crystal palace.....you get a start and if you **** it up then guess what, you're not good enough for LFC.....Comment

One of the few times I have appreciated an international break, hopefully it's done goood for our team being able to train without a lot of focus. And hopfully the two weeks will have given us time to build upon the defensive organization that's clearly been in focus as of late. A bit on top of that and we will start looking decent.
THe lineup is not all that surprising, but personally disappointed that Can is on the bench instead of Allen. Lambert instead of Mario was quite obviously going to happen. Moreno is a surprise? Still carrying a bit of the injury maybe?
Hopefully having Lallana and Coutinho in midfield today will give us some much needed creativity going forward.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this one.Comment
