It looked at times first half we were playing 2 up top but second half he quickly reverted to 1 up top

People will no doubt think Allen played well but for me he's so neutral. Doesn't win enough possession, isn't physical enough, get shrugged off the ball easily, when he gets possession first thought is play it sideways or backwards

There is little or no pressure on the ball, we don't compete for second balls and defensively we are a shambles.

People talk about Gerrard being done but to me that could also apply to Lovren and Johnson who are anonymous week in week out

You can't afford to carry players and week in week out we carry 3 or 4

I am not convinced he's gonna turn this round. He drops players who should be playing and persists with those who shouldnt

Allen kept the ball and kept his flank solid. You may call him neutral, and he is. But you don't see teams strolling through his side of the pitch and in fairness, we should have enough players in the side who can win a game without needing every single player on the pitch to have the ability to dribble past three of four or do a defence splitting pass.

But for me, without Hendo, should have been Can & Allen in midfield with one of Gerrard or Lucas playing away from home. One of our million or so forward thinking players at the tip, and two up top.

It's the first time I've seen a referee give a free-kick for not fouling. Coutinho doesn't watch the ball, jumps for a header facing the opposition and it's a Palace free-kick. If the referee sets the tone, then surely he has to be consistent and give the 'foul' on Skrtel from Hangeland then?

The standard of officiating in this league is atrocious.

If the Couthino one was a foul Sterling should have had a penalty right after they scored.

If us being bullied at the back was only issue, then it's so etching we could work on. But when we are creating NOTHING going forwards then it's a struggle.
