On hindsight we are all better off in the long run we didn't draw 1-1 or 2-2.
That would have offered more hiding places for Rodgers selections and Gerrard in particular. Now it's a full blown crisis and harsh steps have to taken. This result could save us from an eternity of mediocrity, aka Arsenal. One tit for another.

They were all made to look better with SAS on the pitch. Raheem looks lost and Coutinho has no one to pass the ball to. Both will look infinitely better if we ever get Sturridge fit again.Originally posted by Lecter View PostSome of it was down to them but imo Sterling and Henderson have dropped off in terms of pressing and creating and I dont think that has anything to do with Suarez and Sturridge
The players pressed against Spurs without Suarez and they do it sporadically in some games but then they drop off and we go to ****Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Never seen Brendan Rodgers as downhearted as he was post-match. 'I'm not so arrogant to believe I will be in a job through anything'

Rodgers v v low. Cites list of problems (young team, low confidence, squad transition, lots games, less preparation) but no easy solutions
BR "today not to do with Palace being physical, they played on counter. some of our young guys dont have experience. must find a way."
He's making some ridiculous excuses

Of course he is. I had a few concerns about Rodgers when he came here and wasn't particularly impressed with his recruitment. Those were mainly his lack of experience and his lack of status for bringing in the type of players we need to take us forward. He always came across as a salesman for Brendan Rodgers to me, which may be a little harsh.Originally posted by RoadEnd View PostUnfortunately, Rodgers is being found out this season.
When it all clicks it obviously seems to work well, but he doesn't seem to have a plan B and looks out of his depth now. With all respect to Brendan, a club the size of ours is not the place to obtain that experience and we have to look at the owners for making that decision.
He was never going to be able to replace Suarez in the summer, but with the expenditure he should have improved the midfield AND defence significantly but he hasn't. What sums it up for me at the moment is that nobody already at the club last season would look up to a single player coming in, its quite the opposite and for the outlay, thats ludicrous.
I'll be amazed if he sees out the season now if we go out of the CL this round.SakhoPotatoes

Its more than that, collectively as an attacking unit Sturridge makes a difference but for me the system change has ****ed things just as much as losing Suarez and SturridgeBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. As I've just said its just a rumour I've heard a few people mentioning it, if its true I think the obvious happy players are the likes of Johnson and Gerrard whereas the unhappy would be the likes of Sakho and Lucas who can't get a look in no matter what.Originally posted by Lecter View PostWhich players are the happy ones and which unhappy
It could be bull**** but definitely plausible.Vive la France
