He is a real problem. One of many but he's in there. You have to replace him too and we can do that quite easily. You don't want to though.

haha I feel like punching a nun I'm so angry
Marty was too busy getting bullied by a fella who looked about 5'9 to win any tackles.

I think some of the off the ball qualities of midfield players like Hendo, Lallana and Allen would suit him too - work rate and ability to press. He'd set us up to be a robust team with the ability to counter rapidly.

Anyway, don't know why I'm getting into this as I'm loathe to give the false impression I am clamouring for his return!
He would be a winger away from forming a solid team.....I imagine he would have 2 solid midfielders in the centre - likely to be can and Henderson with sterling Coutinho and possibly markovic behind Sturridge.......then hopefully he would buy someone to replace markovic!!!!

The issue with Rafa coming back is that I think he would be unlikely to take on a committee for transfers. Unless he could sack them all and hire his own committee!!! Also, there is the matter of the fact that Lfc have paid the guy a golden handshake of something like 6m.....surely we wouldn't take him back after that....

To be honest though, I am just happy that MOYES has been picked up by sociedad.....that could have been ****in embarrassing

            Problems all over the pitch

Today we had Coutinho, Lallana and Sterling on the pitch arguably our 3 most creative players and created 1 shot on goal which we scored from

Yet presently these players offer little in terms of pressing, Lallana offers the most in terms of this

For me we have to press the ball more and higher up the pitch and that will need system change and different personnel

In possession he plays sideways or backwards which allows other teams to apply pressure and put you under pressure
Harsh assessment I feel. He's better than that & to say he doesn't fight is nonsense.

I said Mignolet is not the answer so clearly I do want him replaced but it's not a priority IMO.

Would a new GK change the fact that we can't score goals or create chances ?

Would a new GK improve our midfield which can't defend or support the attack ?

Would a new GK make Skrtel and Lovren less error prone ?

If were a club with money to burn like City or Chelsea then fair enough but we're not so I'd rather we sort out the real problem areas before buying a new keeper.

The biggest thing for me is that he spent over £100m and yet the best striker he can bring off the bench is Borini. A player he deemed not good enough last year a. nd loaned him out. Sorry but he has lost th plot.

Rodgers has destroyed the team that he had last year and we have signed a sideshow as a replacement for the best striker in the world. I know we missed out on Sanchez but **** me how do we go from Sanchez, to remy and then Ballotelli. You Couldn't make it up.

Torres, alonso, suarez, mash. To name a few we sold in the past when we should have kept them and kicked on. But no we sell them and replace them with proven ****e on massive contracts.
                      100% spot on though.

                      As is Carragher.

Riise was 1 out of 3 in a back four, we had Finnan, Hyypia and Carragher with Hamann and Alonso in front of them. 4 of them 6 were top top defensive players

You'll find out any manager if he doesn't have good enough players in key positions. This team thought they would challenge for the title. They're in the doldrums because reality has hit home that they're not good enough. Need to grow a pair and deal in cold harsh truth. Fight for every ball, not just let someone Coast by because you're frustrated. Too many players being frustrated with teammates and not battling to make up for their mates error. This is not a team, it's a joke.

Id say he's got till the end of the year to show he's changing all things bad about us at the moment. It would be the worst thing to go through a managerial change again. But if the performances &/or results don't seem to be changing then there ma be no other choice. This time we'll need a proven manager. Who that is I don't know. Maybe benitez, maybe klopp. Maybe we just need a defensive coach.
I still think we need a specialised DM in the next TW, Lucas as DM for now. Move Stevie in one of the other 2 MC places or use at tip of the diamond, rotating with Sterling/Coutinho. Get Sturridge fit, & go for a quality SC in the next TW too as Sturridge does have his injury problems. Ballo can be 3rd choice, Rickie 4th & Borini sold. See how this gets us through the season then again have a rethink in the summer, however, only adding 1-2 top quality players.
Can't take any more poor performances like today. Toothless up front. Too many passes at the back, lets the opposition get reorganised & makes us play slower as there is - 1) no space to exploit & 2) too many bodies in front of us to be able to run through! C'mon BR sort it out lad.

Of course its nonsense, I mean he dominates the midfield area week in week out

So is it players or the manager? Or both?

I think it's a number of small things that have gone against us and sapped them of confidence, but I don't see it coming back anytime soon.
