Pulis would work ****ing wonders with our defence, not as a manager but maybe as some kind of advisor or in a similar role. It may be a slap in the face to Rodgers but we are seriously ****ing desperate, we are that bad at the back.

...because Pulis is the antithesis of everything Brendan has tried to do?

The defence has needed sorting for a long time. He sold our best defender in the summer and bought a pub player as a replacement. If he hasn't sorted the defence out by now he never will.

I think he'll do well to survive Wednesday if he doesn't get a result or at the very least a coherent performance out of that team.

There is something wrong with our defending, its been far to long for it to be just the players. Our best leader in modern times sits in the ****ing Sky studio and we continue to scream out for a change. Coaching plays a significant role.

Sounds like it was Brondby or retirement for Agger though. It seems he wasn't physically up to a full week in, week out Premier League season

I'm just not sure what the solution is at the moment without a wholesale change of the week in week out starters and I don't see this happening.

I sort of understand why he's not gone back to the two up top due to who's available and trying to add more bodies in the midfield but it's not working and it can't get any worse by trying something different that served us so well last season.

Looking back at the summer transfer window it just appears that although we've added depth to the squad it's really disjointed and there just seems a massive disconnect in the side from the back all the way to the front.

I've run out of patience tbh with the likes of Skrtel, Johnson and Lovren at the back.

I've backed Rodgers from the start and he deserves to try and reverse this current mess we've found ourselves in but he needs to start making headway with this soon as FSG have shown themselves to be pretty ruthless when things aren't going as expected.

From now until Jan is going to be hugely important for Rodgers if totally adrift of 4th and out of the CL I'd be fearful for how much longer he'll last.

I agree but i'd rather have Agger for 50% of the season than Lovren for 100%.

I'd have honestly brought in lescott rather than lovren.

Lovren looked a tidy player in the season he spent at Southampton.

Man on here were pleased when he signed for us. Perhaps not for the money we paid but it doesn't detract from the fact that we thought we were signing a quality center back.

He's looked a shadow of the player he was last season.

                    So what's went wrong?

Pressure of his big money transfer got to him?
                    Coaching issues?

He was only good 1st half of the season and average at Lyon

I voted sack now. I know it's not justified by any reasonable measure but I am so bored with watching liverpool and football in general that I want him sacked to add interest, for entertainment if you like.

the only way things can change is if he drops certain players, which he will not do, judging by today's post match interview.

hate to say it but if he'll not make serious changes he should be sacked, give him till new years and then decide, but his team selections against ludogorets and then stoke will give us an idea if he's up for it.

The devil on my left shoulder was saying that to me too. These last 5 years really have worn away at my patience.
