It's the last thing anyone will expect.

I'm sure Warhurst got a cap on the back of it. Sutton played up front rest of his career...

It's time for a career saving tactical 'hail Mary' from Brendan.

We can't score goals, we can't defend and our midfield is horrific so we'll not be winning this.

Even if we manage to win our next 2 champions league games and we somehow qualify for the next round what are our expectations ? What if we draw Bayern, Barcelona, atletico etc....

We'll be put out by the first good side we come up against and that's assuming we manage to get out of the group (I don't believe we will). The upside to qualifying for the knockout stage though is the prize money so that's something at least.

CL is over. We will do well to come away with a point from Ludogrets

We also need the bonus ranking points to help our co-efficient.

At this stage it doesn't need to be a good side.

Unless there's a drastic change in personnel, there's no chance we'll win this. Absolutely no chance. The keeper and back four are broken to the core and it's not going to mend itself over 2 days.

For a start, even though Mignolet is the better keeper, I would start with Jones It has now become psychological rather than tactics, formation etc...

So if we are to change things around, and we on here, est, can pretty much agree that our formation & starting 11 are the main things letting us down (things that are in our hands, with the players we have) what would be your formation & starting 11 agains Ludogorets? As someone said, we will see how stubborn/unresponsive Rodgers is with his team selection for our next 2 games!
                      I would go:
                      Mig
                      Manq Toure Lovren Moreno
                      Lucas
                      Can Gerrard
                      Lallana
                      Sterling Lambert

Get kolo in. Could use either lovren or skrtel as 2nd CD alongside Kolo. Give Lucas the DM role. Keeps it ticking over & has better understanding of that role than SG. Move Stevie a bit further forward. Partner Lambo & Sterling up top & have Lallana at tip.
Could swap SG & AL around. Could have Cout instead of Can, but Can may give that extra strength & defensive cover that cout might not. Some things to think about for subs in 2nd half/depending on result.
It is our diamond back which seems to work better for us. It moves SG further forward where his passing & creativity could be more useful & gives us experience in the side. Sterling running off Lambo & both have a partner to look for up front. Im not sure what other bolder decisions BR could make to get things going again. Some may want SG dropped too but id have him start (as long as not in the DM position) for the reasons i said above.

Loose this and Rodgers will be down the job centre on Thursday morning

FSG didn't give him the guts of 100 million in the summer to then see their team get pumped out of Europe's top competiton by a bunch of Albanian goat farmers.

It feels kind of inevitable that this will be Rodgers' last game in charge (and that's supposing he isn't sacked on Monday morning).

He'll pick Lovren, Johnson and Gerrard and set the team up in the usual way...

and the end result will be exactly what most on here expect it to be too

Nah, its not time for that yet.

I know things are bad at the back but playing an injured Sakho is really stretching it.

Agreed. I think Brendan has a while to turn this around still.
