I wouldn't play him at all. He's an extra man for the opposition the way he's playing.

As **** as Lucas now is, he's head and shoulders above Gerrard in the DM position.

As long as Gerrard is pushed up (or out), which I think he will be, then I'm looking forward to tonight. Should be a good game to watch as a Pool fan even if we don't win.

Really looking forward to it, and our pressing/passing style from last season. YNWA.

I really enjoyed the Madrid game from a Pool fan's perspective. The high intensity, the domination in midfield. Keeping Kroos, Modric, Ronaldo, James quiet (albeit they were only half bothered anyway - but that same 1st gear Madrid beat us easily in the first game).

We'll see more of the same tonight (hopefully). There have been very few of these enjoyable games this season and I'm going to make the most of them.

Edit: the "even if we don't win" bit is probably because we might miss a lot of sitters. But at least we'll create them this time.

I get you now. I want to make the most of them too, I really do. I'm struggling with tonight though. I don't think it's going to be enjoyable. At all

That's probably the right approach TBH. I'm setting myself up for disappointment (again) and you're setting up for a nice surprise.

i did enjoy our game v madrid. we got beat but at least we showed more control as we've been cut clean open by many lesser teams recently and we all thought we were going to be slaughtered.

lets hope we can again show a better balance and more controlled game, players making a bigger effort to get involved.
no one passing the ball and then running away, thats **** house football, trying to look busy but really just hiding.

                    come the **** on
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I am not sure how much we actually controlled that game

Madrid scored and could have scored a few more but for poor finishing

I didnt think Madrid played that well really

I agree, we didn't control anything, but we were more compact IMO.

                          Again I'm not convinced

Think it was a bit of an illusion based on Madrid being poor and them not being able to finish

We started ok but again seemed to tail off pretty quickly

I thought Madrid away was our 2nd best performance of the season

...which I know isn't saying much, but still. I've only taken comfort from Spurs and Real away all season. Not one home game.

I though we were more compact, Kolo held his position more than Lovren who always goes to the sideline if his FB moves forward and the midfield was deeper, maybe I'm wrong but that's my take on the game.

We had a better balance in that game, was clearly evident & we did look much more solid.
