If we scrape through the group stage, which it's looking like we will, by the time the knock out stages come we could be in a much better position. We aren't good enough to win it, but we weren't in 2005. But at least in 2005 we had fairly decent start of a spine in Hyypia, Carra, Hamann, Gerrard & Alonso.

Depends who we draw I guess, but I'll have a stab at Quarter. Finals if we can scrape past the Swiss.

If we can beat Basel (lets face it theyre ****) then the next tie will see us knocked out. As soon as we face a decent or semi decent team were out.

Im having a hard time believing we will get the 3 points at Anfield the way we are playing at the moment. We make **** teams look good & allow them to get at us. We'll be lucky yo beat basel, but will probably lose in the next round.

Basel are no better than Ludogorets. We can beat them at Anfield if we produce a decent performance.

I think we'll get through, otherwise I agree.

To be fair given our lack of CL experience I'd have taken that before the start, however I did expect us to do it in far more style.

We are not going through, Basel is a very capable side, don't know why everybody dismisses them. They have decent attack and managed 20 shots against Madrid in their first game, won us at their home and are odds on to go through with a draw or a win IMO.
                    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

What's the betting we concede in the last couple of minutes again and the game finishes 1-1?

                      Europa League here we come!

Basel also lost to Ludogorets and having lots of shots on target whilst conceding five or so is no sign of a top side.

When they beat us, we were disjointed and seemed to lack the appetite for the game. They had guy at DM who ran his socks off that night and snapped into tackles. The writing was on the wall for that one well before the final whistle. Basel have always performed well at home and poor away mostly.

No doubt, if we perform like we did in Switzerland they'll beat us. But we have three premier league games before that. I've said it many times this season, but this is a run of fixtures that are winnable and could change everything. I'm praying for a good run, a win in Basel and then some good results against MUFC & Arsenal in consecutive weeks. It is a MASSIVE run of games that I feel will dictate what happens with our season, and what happens with Rodgers.

If you win the Europa you get in the CL next year, could end up being our bets chance, ha ha

All the way, and we'll beat Chelsea in the final.
