It actually helps, us and Rodgers, that the game is after what two weeks? I hadn't realised that. I guess the owners really can't make any decisions until our group in the CL is finished. We might pull ourselves together, I just checked the fixtures and Leicester is midweek so IF we can batter together back to back wins things would instantly improve, but I've been saying that since september.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostBasel also lost to Ludogorets and having lots of shots on target whilst conceding five or so is no sign of a top side.
When they beat us, we were disjointed and seemed to lack the appetite for the game. They had guy at DM who ran his socks off that night and snapped into tackles. The writing was on the wall for that one well before the final whistle. Basel have always performed well at home and poor away mostly.
No doubt, if we perform like we did in Switzerland they'll beat us. But we have three premier league games before that. I've said it many times this season, but this is a run of fixtures that are winnable and could change everything. I'm praying for a good run, a win in Basel and then some good results against MUFC & Arsenal in consecutive weeks. It is a MASSIVE run of games that I feel will dictate what happens with our season, and what happens with Rodgers.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

This is from the Echo on potential Europa League opponents. Shows how poor our Champions League campaign has been to be unseeded.
Liverpool FC fans may not want to face up to this reality, but they will have to - the Reds are now in the Europa League.
Following a third-place finish in their Champions League group, Brendan Rodgers must rally his squad in an attempt to win the Europa League. There is, after all, a Champions League place for the winner.
Here's the questions most frequently asked about the Reds in this season's Europa League.
What stage are they in?
They are in the last 32 - which means there is still a potential eight games to play until reaching the final in Warsaw on May 27.
Will they be seeded?
That won't be confirmed until Wednesday's Champions League fixtures have been played, but Liverpool will be unseeded. The four third-placed Champions League teams with the worst group stage records will be unseeded.
Of the four groups completed on Tuesday, Liverpool were the lowest and sit fourth already with Zenit, Olympiakos and Anderlecht all finishing on a higher total.
In Group G, Schalke (five points) and Marbior (three points) face each other, meaning one of those sides will finish on more than five points regardless of the result.
Can they face Everton?
The big question. Not in the last 32, no. There will be country protection for that stage of the competition, so no Tottenham, either. They could face them from the last 16 onwards - although there are no seedings at that point.
So who could they face?
The following teams have already won their groups and will therefore be seeded:
Red Bull Salzburg, Dynamo Moscow, Inter Milan, Fiorentina.
Other teams who they could face include, depending on Thursday's results, are:
Borussia Moenchengladbach, Villarreal, Club Brugge, Torino, Feyenoord, Sevilla, Napoli, Sparta Prague, Dynamo Kiev, AaB, Legia Warsaw, Trabzonspor.
When is the draw?
The draw will be held on December 15.
When will the games be played?
The first legs will be played on February 19 2015, and the second legs will be played a week later on February 26 2015. The unseeded teams would be at home first.
Best case scenario?
The winner of Group L - Legia Warsaw or Trabzonspor.
Worst case scenario?
Take your pick. Rafael Benitez's Napoli stick out, but Sevilla, Villarreal, Moenchengladbach, Inter and Fiorentina are all still a possibility at time of writing.

****, I just loked at the fixtures for February.
Sat - 7 Everton A
Tue - 10 Tottenham H
Thurs - 19 Europa League
Sat - 21 Southampton A
Thurs - 26 Europe League
Sat - 28 Man City H
(Obviously, the Southampton and City games will be moved to Sunday). I'm guessing there's international matches on the weekend of the 14th too. That rug really tied the room together.
