Apart from Henderson's goal (and Sterling's assist) that was really awful. We are horrible at the moment, no confidence whatsoever. We're lacking up front and it's painfully obvious. Mignolet isn't playing well and the defence isn't helping him. Our midfield is all over the place and we have no attacking threat. It's a complete shambles.

how many times did a player pass to someone only to get it straight back?

Nobody wants the ball and its painful to watch

For our overall progress in the Champions League it makes no difference but its going to be a massive blow to the team with another match where they have failed to see it out and hold a lead. Its also ranking points which will give us a worse draw next time round - not that it matters too much if we can't beat a team who nobody has heard of...

Sterling spent most of the second half limping, and Rodgers said afterwards that he was feeling ill / had stomach pain too. He was easily our best player and only attacking outlet with any dynamism but leaving him on if he really was struggling would have been negligent, especially with 3 league games in just over a week to come.

Yeah he can, Brad Jones is rubbish. I swear Carra almost called him ****e on TV tonight when they were discussing this exact thing. We're surely bound to try to make a new keeper signing in Jan. Mignolet would make a decent no 2.

By now Brendan should have fixed our problems in defence...but for me it looks worse than ever. I'm not sure if it's down to him recruiting the wrong players or if he as a manager lacks that basic tactical skill. If he only he had replaced Mignolet and Suarez this summer with campions league quality...

I reckon Cech will come in on loan in Jan.

We're clearly not seen as a threat to Chelsea this year so I can imagine Mourinho will sanction it.

No brainer even if his wages are high.

This notion of just beat Basel and were through Basel are quite capable of beating us on our current season form regardless of it being at Anfield, and they also will fight to go through to the next round

i was thinking the same. It isn't that far away but in reality, Basel will be thinking "a draw at Liverpool as we are through"

It should be an excellent atmosphere though. Rodgers was quoted as saying that the Ludogorets game could have been the one that changed our season - for me it is the Basel game that could make or break it.....our league campaign will be a write off if we lose another game or two - but in reality if we pick up form after christmas, then we could still be in the cap-one cup and the CL.....

A win against and were through to last 16, draw or lose and its europa league

Countless times in the second half where stevie was ahead of Lambert which wasnt on.

Could have been a great game for Markovic instead of playing hendo, lucas, and allen together (weve got the best midfield in the world, sigh).

We have too many options in midfield, Rodgers has no idea and constantly changes things. We have about a trillion possible permutations in reality, although in BR's head they are fewer since Gerrard needs to start every single ****ing goddamn cunting game.
                          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Liverpool have had a one goal lead after 85 mins six times in all comps this season. They've lost that lead six times.

Given our recent ****ness I have no problem with the team selection and tactics, however where were the subs? WTF was that about? If Sterling was injured and didn't feel well, despite him being our most attacking player, I can understand that. I can understand putting Moreno on for his pace on the break, but why leave a noticeably tiring 34 year old and a 32 (33?) year old on up front who offer no pressing or counter attacking threat against a team that are chasing the game? I'm no manager but I can't get my head around that thinking, it seems very basic to me. That's two games in a row now, and one of many this season, where we have been crying out for a positive substitution and it hasn't come. Don't get it.
