I agree with Marcus, in a couple of weeks we could be out of the CL and realistically out of the race for the top 4. If that happens FSG will act.

Doubt JWH will do anything until the summer. At this rate though, he won't be releasing any funds in Jan

We were more solid but Sunderland were terrible they didn't threaten

With regards our attacking play, our play is too congested inside. Lallana, Coutinho, Lambert and Gerrard when he came on all were too often trying to get through the width of the 6 yard box. They then try and threat intricate touches and passes and they are all concentrated within 5 or 6 yards of each other

The only width we had was from Sterling particularly 2nd half and I think he was a constant threat that half even when he chose to come inside

Big positive was us no longer having 11 players inside the box when defending corners. Think that has been total insanity the last few weeks

Good to see 3 players pushing up the pitch when we have corners against us as it normally means the opposition has to keep 4 men back.

Only changes I would make is that instead of all 3 strung across the halfway line I would have 1 slightly deeper and I would also have Sterling as one of those on the halfway line for his pace which is essential when doing this

They won't sack him before the end of the season

January will be an indicator regarding his future. No money spent and I expect his future will come under scrutiny by FSG in the summer. If they spend some more cash then chances are he's here beyond the summer

If we had a keeper who could come out and claim the ball it'd be even better - takes bodies out of the box and clears the area for him to attack.

It's still an improvement though - takes our smaller players out of the way and gives the opposition something to worry about.

Only about 6 months or so since he signed that new contract isn't it ?

We could sell Borini and Balotelli in January and buy a striker for about £20 million. That would be a net spend of around £0 and we might actually have a striker on the books who's capable of scoring regular goals who isn't injured.

                      Here's hoping

prob will sell borini but balotelli will have no takers

                          Borini won't leave

He knows we want rid but he doesn't want to go so he has to have some incentive to go

We will probably end up paying him off

Sounds like a plan, but in practice I don't think it would be balancing the books. Even if we can sell both, we are likely to end up giving them payoffs and forking out more one-off expenses for the new signing than just a transfer fee.

Both of them will be here till their contract runs out. The best we can hope for is loan deals.

7 points out of 9. If offered this return 3 games ago I would have snapped your hand off.

Need to beat Basle and maybe Utd to continue the slowly building momentum.
