I agree with Marcus, in a couple of weeks we could be out of the CL and realistically out of the race for the top 4. If that happens FSG will act.

We were more solid but Sunderland were terrible they didn't threaten
With regards our attacking play, our play is too congested inside. Lallana, Coutinho, Lambert and Gerrard when he came on all were too often trying to get through the width of the 6 yard box. They then try and threat intricate touches and passes and they are all concentrated within 5 or 6 yards of each other
The only width we had was from Sterling particularly 2nd half and I think he was a constant threat that half even when he chose to come insideBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Big positive was us no longer having 11 players inside the box when defending corners. Think that has been total insanity the last few weeks
Good to see 3 players pushing up the pitch when we have corners against us as it normally means the opposition has to keep 4 men back.
Only changes I would make is that instead of all 3 strung across the halfway line I would have 1 slightly deeper and I would also have Sterling as one of those on the halfway line for his pace which is essential when doing thisBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. They won't sack him before the end of the seasonOriginally posted by captainfog View PostI agree with Marcus, in a couple of weeks we could be out of the CL and realistically out of the race for the top 4. If that happens FSG will act.
January will be an indicator regarding his future. No money spent and I expect his future will come under scrutiny by FSG in the summer. If they spend some more cash then chances are he's here beyond the summerBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. If we had a keeper who could come out and claim the ball it'd be even better - takes bodies out of the box and clears the area for him to attack.
It's still an improvement though - takes our smaller players out of the way and gives the opposition something to worry about.

We could sell Borini and Balotelli in January and buy a striker for about £20 million. That would be a net spend of around £0 and we might actually have a striker on the books who's capable of scoring regular goals who isn't injured.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThey won't sack him before the end of the season

Sounds like a plan, but in practice I don't think it would be balancing the books. Even if we can sell both, we are likely to end up giving them payoffs and forking out more one-off expenses for the new signing than just a transfer fee.Originally posted by ChrisDR1968 View PostWe could sell Borini and Balotelli in January and buy a striker for about £20 million.
