You'd think so wouldn't you. But i still expect Johnson, Allen, Lovren to play at the weekend.

Rodgers got his selection wrong, and by the looks of it his formation but being at the game it was actually quite hard to tell whether it was 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2.

I said before the game I would have gone for:

Mig
Jon*-Skr-Lov*-Mor
Luc
Hen-Lall
Ster
Lam-Mar*

*Johnson - I hate him, he's awful but in a game like this I don't think Manquillo is ready. He was poor for most of the game but I would have gone with him too.

*Lovren - With the absence of Toure (injured?) he had to play him or Sakho. Again I'm not a fan of Lovren but with Sakho's lack of action I would have gone with Lovren too.

*Markovic - With Sturridge out, unless we play Sterling up top with Lambert to make runs in behind we have no pace. It's worth a risk with trying something different like Markovic up top to see how he does.


Playing Gerrard slowed us down but with his experience I understand the argument for him to play.

Enrique over Moreno I don't think is excusable.


At half time I said we should go to 3-5-2 because we were getting overrun in midfield and needed to have more of an attacking threat. He brought on Markovic who did well until his stupid sending off which although was soft at this level he should know not to raise his hands.

After the sending off we had to instantly go to 3 at the back. It took a little while but he did go to it.


One final note is that watching our full backs tonight was scary. I lost count how many times Enrique and Johnson lost sight of their man over their shoulder and they could have easily scored more as a result. Plus Enrique had two men several times and didn't communicate to Hendo/Allen or Lovren/Skrtel to come over to help him out.

I think Can will turn out to be a good player for us. But I wouldn't have lallana ahead of Coutinho......no ****in way...

I'd have him instead of Allen though.

i get your point but it helps when you have the movement of a ronaldinho, messi, Eto'o or David Villa in front of you and an Iniesta beside you.

What i mean is the limp attack is a combination of not enough good movement and a lack of creativity in my humble opinion.
