    Have to agree

The press have turned on him, he knows this, a lot of fans have turned

You see.............I don't think our weak mentality will allow us to recover and mount any sort of fight for the remainder of the season.
People can point to 'we can focus on the league, bar the odd EL appearance', and drive for the CL spots etc.
But just look at us ? Look at some of the wasters playing on a regular basis ?
I wouldn't have one of them watching my back in a scrap, and to think that they won't just fall into a reclusive attitude for the remainder of the season is fanciful at best.
Probably looking at a 7-8th spot here, with the odd good result daring to raise the spirit of the Anfield silent majority.

Maybe its just the pessimism speaking, but I don't believe this team can just 'get better' even with Sturridge returning. **** this.

The only manager I have actively disliked was Roy, Rodgers I am kind of indifferent towards. He sometimes makes me cringe but last season he provided me with real enjoyment

Unfortunately this season he hasnt and once again frustration takes over

I am not sure I want Rodgers sacked but his tenure ending almost has an air of inevitability to it now
I understand people want to air their frustrations. It just seems this place has solely become a place to vent and certain negative, broken record-style posts and posters make it boring. By all means criticize the team in a constructive way, but calling Joe Allen a waste of space or whatever other pejorative you want to use adds nothing.

When it comes to Rodgers I'm losing patience too, but I'd give him the season and then sack him if he doesn't turn it around. Letting a new manager come in with a new transfer window is always a good idea.

We are generally weak physically as well as mentally

How many of those players go out and impose themselves physically

We are designed to play around teams not get involved in scrapping

I think we did things last season (pressing high) that unbalanced teams and put them on the back foot making a physical midfield "battle" less likely

Now we dont put pressure on teams high which means we are sat deeper and then when we come under pressure a midfield battle ensues and we are just not physically capable of this

The biggest problem for me, is how many of the fundamentals we fail to do

Its not just the odd one here and there it happens week in week out and at least 5 or 6 different things

11 men in the box when defending corners and not having any get out ball on the half way line

Having men on the post off corners who move off their post before a ball has even been cleared

Defenders failing to be goalside of players

Central defenders moving outside the penalty box lines and failing to clear the ball, man or both

Midfielders not competing for second balls

No pressure on the ball when we try to play offside

Its does my ****ing head in because these are fundamentals that I would expect an amateur pub team to do on a Sunday morning at Buckley Hill

He's hanging on for grim life until January. Football is fickle. Not hearing Allardyce or Pardew out now. Nor am I hearing claims that Koeman is a sure fire bet for manager of the year. It's no longer the invincibles of Chelsea walking the league, suddenly it's a two horse race and apparently every one always knew that would be the case.

He's had a massive high, usually a low will follow. Maybe not such a drop as this, but it is what it is. Either way, he has to pray he can get to January and hope he's still within touching distance of 4th. Obviously he also likely hoped we could limp into the knockouts of the CL. But it's never over in football until the very end.

I hope for the signing of a striker in January and I hope Danny gets back & fires. Tick both off and it breathes life into a dead squad who will have had six months of adjustment to the league. Start winning again and 4th could be within reach, as well as a decent run in the Europa and a shot at winning the League Cup.

It's December now, he doesn't have to hang on for much longer. He must be desperate for points from our next games. It's not over yet.
              Forwards.......

I think he will survive till the end of the season, unless we are actually in free-fall. FSG were patient when it came to Kenny and I expect they will be the same with their self appointed man

I fully agree he will get until the end of the season. And as I was fully supportive of him getting a new contract, I myself would give him until the end of the season at least. I want to see his side again with a top striker in form & I would hope that he & the committee have learned their lesson in that regards.

A top striker is one commodity that can't be brushed over so easily.

Why the **** is there no striker from the U21's pushing for a spot; at least that would have pacified at little.... we seem to spend fortunes on development, but for little return.

Just look up the east lancs road, they at least appear to have players coming thru their ranks

agree completely on the fact that Allardyce (or Allardici) and Pardew are now set for manager of the year contention.....and the fact that chelsea invincibles was stupid as well.... the media are crazy in the UK - you had journos on the radio last week saying that they reckoned chelsea would have it won by the start of feb and then they could concentrate on the CL. A load of bollix - in reality Chelsea have awesome players and a manager that organises them properly - but they still went to City and played for a 0-0. And an extended injury to Terry, Matic, Fabregas, Hazard or Costa would also put a question mark on them.....

For me, the problem Brendan has is he has spent all that money and he now doesnt know how to integrate the new players. Some people are excited about the likes of Moreno and Can - but in reality they have shown glimpses. Our best central defenders are a free transfer from two seasons ago that we would have gladly given away this summer but he wouldnt go, and a guy that has split opinion since he was signed 7 or 8 years ago.

The team yesterday spelt it out big time - he didnt trust any of the new players. Lovren and Lambert both started because he was forced into it by injury.

I think Sturridge will make a huge difference when he does get back - his movement off the ball will create spaces for Sterling and Coutinho to run into. And also he takes up better positions, is better at shooting and works harder and faster than any of our other strikers. I also think that Balotelli and Sturridge could possibly form a good partnership. But they are running out of time to do so.

I think Brendan will be judged on the whole season. If he can get the team playing well into the second half of the season - even if we ended up finishing 5th - then i would be in favour of giving him another season. However there is a big BUT to all of that - he has to integrate the new players. He needs to show that Lovren, Balotelli and Lallana weren't a total waste of money and that Emre Can, Markovic, Manquillo and Moreno have potential to become worldies. If the majority of these players show talent and form, then BR can possibly go to FSG and say that they just needed time to settle, we were screwed with injuries to Sturridge and we don't actually need many more players. We will have Origi and Wisdom coming back from loan spells - if we could add a good deensive midfielder (maybe Alex Song) then FSG might give him another season. And maybe it would be the right thing to do as well. Spurs haven't exactly flourished chopping and changing. FSG are likely to have someone like Kenny in their ear as well saying give him another go....

If the signings show nothing though, and he isnt even playing them - we persist with playing Lucas, Allen, Hendo behind Sterling Coutinho Sturridge - then that might win him games but it will also further cement the belief that Brendan is terrible in the transfer market. And there is nowhere but the sack for him then....

                          Comment

Also, i dont think we will get anyone in Jan. Only possibles are players on the cheap because their contracts are up (Winston Reid) or a loan deal.....FSG won't throw good money after bad......and they would be right not to as well...

I dont get where you think Lallana is terrible and how you think Moreno & Can have only shown enough to be behind Enrique, Johnson or Allen

Lallana has had less time on the pitch than Coutinho and still scored and assisted more

Enrique & Johnson have been appalling yet are consistently given mre opportunities than players such as Moren and Manquillo who have certainly been no worse than either of these players

Can is far more positive in terms of play than Allen can ever be, he offers more of a physical presence, he passes and carries the ball forward and will put his foot in, yet is passed over for the most neutral midfielder I've seen in 35 years of watching LFC
