Funny you should say that, the fellas on the anfield wrap said the exact same thing. Get a great keeper, fill the squad with 4 top forwards and the rest sorts itself out. I can see a lot of truth in it to be honest.Originally posted by dww View PostExcellent keeper, clinical forwards. It was frequently the backbone of Ferguson's sides.
Too often we've only had one (usually fragile) forward of note and/or a dodgy keeper over the years.Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

It's a bit simplistic (and certainly not the only way to have success) but it's worked well for a lot of teams. Certainly seems to be a sound basis for squad building that allows you to do well no matter which tactics the manager chooses to adopt.Originally posted by wiw View PostFunny you should say that, the fellas on the anfield wrap said the exact same thing. Not sure what your point is? I let his record speak for itself - His stats are below. Feel free to post those of a (viable) alternative:Originally posted by vonk View PostSometimes I think people are just waiting for every manager we appoint to have a bad run, so they can call for Rafa to be installed again. Every time we hit the skids, let's get Rafa back in. He still lives here you know?

Went to this on Sunday - and sat just behind the non playing staff in the exec bit. Couple of snippets, Di Maria - He's ****in tiny, and he didn't get up when they scored, neither did Anderson. Ian Ayre, got up and walked off after the third goal, Kenny stayed on till end.
Koeman and the Bodge watched the match together, well sort of, Koeman ****ed off after 50 minsI make no apologies, this is me
