He hit a really good patch but I think tonight was maybe his 4th game he's struggled in, I suppose everyone has a dip luckily for us Sturridge is coming back and he's likely to replace him.

We were by far the better side but I didn't think we were going to score/win. Phew!!

Was glad to see our first choice midfield rested - but how bad were Allen and Gerrard? (Gerrard in midfield just doesn't work). Henderson looked so much better (than Allen and Gerrard) when he came on.

Markovic and Lallana were also poor.

On the positive side - Mig and the defence get better with each game. Skrtel was unlucky with the pen (I though it was a dive). Can and Sakho - brilliant.

Coutinho and Sterling - wouldn't look out of place playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Good to see Sturridge get game time. He's obviously lacking in match fitness but he still looks class.

One other thing - anyone/everyone watch the game on BBC1? Phil '****ing' Neville
        Another MASSIVE game

I don't normally do sentiment in football, but for Gerrard I'd have to make allowances. But in a role up top, not in midfield.

Opening game of last season! He saved a penalty vs stoke & we won 1-0

ha! Lennon! What a prick! No credit at all for the superb goals we scored, first one was their fault for ball watching, second was a lucky deflection.

                Ref lost them the game!

Good to see our team didn't fall to pieces despite having Gerrard AND Allen as our CM pairing. Danns and Clough getting praised for playing well when really they had the whole midfield area handed to them in the first half.

As for Vermillion's Lennon comment he's only doing what he can for such a visibly sh*t team. Bolton are a diabolical footballing side and he has to get a them vs us mentality in there asap.

I thought Borrini was tragic when he came on last night - particularly when he was supposed to be out wide and kept cutting in and congesting play.

I was really surprised he was brought on when we were chasing a goal.

I was at the game last night. After about 5 minutes, it was clear to see that Bolton had a clear walk through the center of our midfield.

                        Joe Allen was ****e.
                        Gerrard was ****e.
                        Lallana was ****e.

Those 3 only invited pressure onto the defense and although you would say that we should have scored with some of the chances we created, we didn't really look comfortable defensively at any time last night. And it wasn't because of any of the back 3 - they were all actually pretty solid last night.

For me, Lucas and Henderson are now vital to our whole team. Proper back up for these guys is paramount in the summer. And for me, that is why Milner would be a good signing.

What you saw on the pitch was pretty evident on TV too. Lallana landed us in so much sh*t I almost wanted to jump in and kick him up the arse.

But all of them needed game time and no real damage done.

i'm guessing Rodgers was concerns about bringing Sturridge on to soon in case of extra time.

Borini has so much inner confidence I'm not sure we will ever get rid of him. We need that Peters guy to **** with his mind and make him think Sunderland is a better team than us or something!

Allen needs to be sold this summer too. He's never really settled IMO. Rodgers seems to have a soft spot for him.

Yeah, the Yeovil game was their 43rd consecutive FA Cup game live on TV. I don't know if they count replays, but Cambridge will have been there 44th and the Preston game will be their 45th. Crazy.
