Don't forget he didn't celebrate the goal either. Got to be some Hail Mary's thrown in for good measure also
      Go **** yourself

        Lallana - Sturridge - Sterling

Plenty of options from the bench too.
I like it, maybe start Balotelli for Lallana.

Why on God's green and pleasant land would we drop (yes drop, not rest as he doesn't need rest) Ibe? Why? Really interested to know. Have I missed an injury or slight pull?

Southampton are going to go full defensive on Sunday. Markovic is not going to get behind their two banks of 4 and one 'defensive striker'. We'll need every trick and bit of pace we have to break them down and Ibe/Sterling/Sturridge will be too much for any team to handle.

Sakho had a really good game against Besiktas, maybe give him a break for Lovren too, eh?

Keep Ibe at wingback, play a front three of Sterling, Sturridge and Balotelli. Blitz them with speed and power. Win game.

            You're welcome.

The way Coutinho has been playing (shocking) I'd be tempted to go 3-4-1-2.

              My temptation would be:

              Mig
              Can Skrtel Sakho
              Ibe Hendo Allen Sterling
              Lallana
              Sturridge Balotelli

Yes we're away but Southampton are not an attacking side. Their stats prove this. They also don't have the personnel to be so and once they see our teamsheet they definitely won't be on Sunday.

Pivotal weekend. Got a feeling that Utd (away to Swansea) and Arsenal (away to Palace) will slip up. Three points for us would be massive. However, I've not got a good feeling (away game few days after a European game). Hopefully BR can motivate and get the best out of our team.

As an aside - I've missed the last few games (only seen highlights) so not sure why some are saying Coutinho should be dropped. He's a great player and I would definitely play him against Southampton.

Surprised how many want to play Lovren. A lot of you seem to have forgotten what a complete disaster he was.

He's been eased back into the squad by Rodgers in what I think is a clever way but starting him against his old team would not be a good idea.

Too much pressure to put in a performance on his fragile confidence. It could destroy him.

A settled back three of Can, Skrtel and Sakho is solid. It's also helped with Mig's confidence.

Much like everybody else was in the team before we changed system.

I'm no great fan of Lovren, but I'm pretty confident he'd cope better in our current system.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I don't see the need to risk over playing him so soon after coming back from a long term injury.
It was a muscular one at that, much more likely to go again when fatigued which he's likely to be.

Get through the first couple of games on adrenalin but after that his lack of match fitness will show for a couple of weeks.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

You can only build match fitness through playing matches though. I think it's cumulative fatigue we got to worry about, and with Sturridge resting and not having played for a while, this hasn't built up yet.
