Totally agree, our best run of form has coincided with Can and Sakho been at the back and Lovren bombed out of the team why would anyone want to change that at this moment in time? The caveat is of course Joe Allen in midfield and the lack of any other alternative, it's almost a case of pick your own poison, Allen or Lovren as I can't see a scenario where we can get away with both of them out of the team.Kurtangled in the McFadden thread 16/01/08

Mignolet
Can - Skrtel - Sakho
Markovic - Henderson - Allen - Moreno
Lallana - Sturridge - Sterling
Plenty of options from the bench too.
I would go with that too, I don't see Balotelli starting after Rodgers comments, and as Markovic was suspended in Europe he's had a break and this means Ibe isn't playing twice in a week, works out nicely
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm no great fan of Lovren, but I'm pretty confident he'd cope better in our current system.
I agree with what you are saying, no one covered themselves with glory at the beginning of the season.
However, more so than anyone else Lovren seemed to just self implode. I think most of us thought he was a good signing when we got him so I'm sure he can come good in the future but right now he is being slowly reintegrated into the squad and I wouldn't rush that.
He wouldn't be the first player that Rodgers has resurrected from the cold but tomorrow isn't the moment.
I think he will come on again as a substitute to let Can move into the midfield and I think that's what will happen for the next month or so.

I don't disagree at all mate and I do think you are right, but if Rodgers did decide to play him I don't think it would be the catastrophe that many imagine and could see the logic. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
