If Sturridge's game time needs to be managed, which one of the other three would you have on the pitch?

Sturidge should have never played 105 mins of football on Thursday that's not managing him properly IMO but yeah i have to agree I wouldn't start with Borini or Lambert & IMO Balo would be a banker to do something nuts.

Agreed. Whilst I can understand Rodgers' dilemma on Thursday, Sturridge should have been off sooner. I also understand people questioning the need for four strikers on the bench.

Having a pop at Rodgers for not playing Borini, Lambert or Balotelli is a tad daft. Especially as we have done okay with Sterling filling in previously.

wasn't a great idea so soon. At the same time you really don't know what Balotelli is going to do so maybe Rodgers didn't want to risk that. Maybe bring the wildcard on later in the game?

Yeh agree muds. If Sterling was a better finisher I'd love seeing him up top, especially running at Mangala & Kompany. Their defence has been very rocky this season.

We are very unlucky that Lucas/Sakho are indued & Sturridge/Lallana are not fully fit. Sterling who is a huge player for us has been off form of late too. Then that drain on Thursday night too. Just bad timing this game.

Coutinho,Lallana,Hendo & Allen are going to have to work their bollox off today.

Can't remember the last time I criticised a starting line-up but that looks a shocker. 4 stickers and GK on bench. I suppose the savings grace is so much flexibility to jiggle things around if defender or midfielder gets injured

He got blasted for resting players against Real Madrid, the guy can't win. Perhaps Rodgers has tailored our approach today differently to what we went with at Besiktas and he wants speed, tenacity and nimbleness from our front three today, not an away goal from two strikers hell-bent on individual performances.

There's definitely movement and energy in our side.. not so sure there's end product. Would feel much more confident if we didn't have that drain on Thursday night.
