It has its limitations. When you have sterling and lallana as your choices, why not change it so it gets more out of them. I hope he doesn't just stick with it come what may. said same in match thread, he has struggled in the position alright. Lucas be back soon hopefully and sakho back...so we can get back to our preferred setup.

We're a different team when Can and Sakho are passing from defence. We'll be devastating when they're back there in league games with Allen/Lucas in midfield. Not worried about today. We'll rip Blackburn and Utd two new arseholes after a decent 10 day break.

Can struggled but the last 30 minutes+ we bossed possession the entire attacking line were off the pace, Allen wasn't going to change that was he? Lallana taking extra touches and needlessly cutting back. Sterling doing little, Markovic even less and Sturridge and Coutinho not firing either, Blackburn did well but our attacking players didn't do much to worry them.

I think Can is trying to be too many kinds of midfielder. He's over elaborate at times when simple passes are enough, its like because he has it in his locker he thinks it need to always be on show. Given time there though he can still become a beast.

Jonhosn & Lovren are so slow to release the ball and often it's played sideways inviting pressure on. Markovic and Sterling are no wing back either. Lucas is the one we need back & then Can and Sakho back in defence... then we'll be back to our best IMO.

Fantastic by Blackburn. Had a go first half then rock solid second half.

They did what most teams haven't done v LFC at Anfield. They got in our faces and closed us down very quickly. On that state of pitch if a team closes down quickly and works hard, we will struggle & that's exactly what happened. LFC couldn't really speed it up as when they tried the control of the bouncing ball just wasn't happening.

To me today, it looked like they were up for it more than us & we didn't quite fancy it.

Juat talking to one of the lads who is a Blackburn fan, feels they were well worth their replay. Have to agree alright. They are bit of a dirty side but it's less technical and more physical in the championship. Didn't think the ref was great but they worked their bollox off all game and stifled us... really put it up to us today.

Personally I thought we looked burned out... games taking their toll. Hopefully we'll be fresher after the much needed break.
