Yeah on reflection, perhaps I was being unfair. We have worked ****ing hard lately. Bound to take its toll. But I do think if the players aren't available, especially at home to a championship side, we shouldn't shoehorn players into positions for the sake of it. Sterling at wing back was ****. Markovic isn't suited and lallana is too slow to play there. We do have a problem playing teams like Blackburn. In fact cup competitions under Brendan aren't really our thing. I still don't think we create enough easy goals. Look at the city game, two crackers, Burnley, two great finishes. Where are the tap ins? That's why balotelli against spurs is one of my favourite goals this season.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

St least we'll get a decent rest for the Utd game then we can hammer these cunts and get to the semis!
Agreed, we were trying to be too pretty without sufficient tempo. A few more crosses into the mixer for big Rickie would have given them something else to think about.

Fantastic is overstating it somewhat. I didn't see them "having a go" in the first half. They just did what all lower division teams do away in the cup. They packed their defence and just lumped the ball forward occasionally. They posed very little threat with just one effort on target and one corner kick in ninety minutes.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostFantastic by Blackburn. Had a go first half then rock solid second half.
They did what most teams haven't done v LFC at Anfield. They got in our faces and closed us down very quickly. On that state of pitch if a team closes down quickly and works hard, we will struggle & that's exactly what happened. LFC couldn't really speed it up as when they tried the control of the bouncing ball just wasn't happening.
To me today, it looked like they were up for it more than us & we didn't quite fancy it.
So, while there was zero chance at any stage of our losing today I expect the replay to be fairly comfortable and we'll win by two or three.
