Where was the effort, commitment, desire, balls?

Even if they got overawed by the occasion or the pressure.... the very least they could do was show a good attitude and bust a gut. Semi final of an FA Cup and we were gutless. That's the worst thing for me Bob.

Yup. And all the potential still at the club sees that as the only way they'll win owt- by also moving.
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Agreed they have to be the right blend as well for me.

We can't go for pretty players we need, strength and power as much as football qualities

Until FSG change their transfer and wage policy there will never be any permanent improvement at this club regardless of who the manager is.

Sack Brendan if you want but remember the next manager will also be expected to finish above at least one of Utd, Chelsea, City and Arsenal without being able to offer prospective signings wages over 100k and he also won't be able to sign anyone decent over the age of 24.

So until that changes good luck to whoever the manager is next season.

Yup their scrimping policy just doesn't work in the modern game.

players should get most of the blame, they showed no passion or bite in a semi final a manger should need a team talk he should just say who is playing and they should put everything into the game but non of them did apart from the little feller.

what do you want him to say? just look at past posts here when he has publicly slated a player,he has been criticised for doing that rodgers can't win

It's a gradual process and relies on a bit of luck too. Not sure what else we can to be honest.

You could also argue they had a better side out than ours so it's fair enough they won.

He's pandered to Gerrard all season and it's looking like he'll pay for it with his job.
Gerrard shouldn't have started this game never mind finished it.

Some right whinging pricks on here today.

Villa played more aggressive football and deserved to win. As for sacking Rodgers let's see how the league pans out - if he achieves top four (unlikely, but possible) then it won't be too bad. If we finish fifth or below then the owners definitely need to consider their options. I think Rodgers has been unlucky - the gamble with Balotelli hasn't paid off and we needed Sturridge fit and playing regularly. I'm not Rodgers' biggest fan, but I'd still stick with him for another season.

he got slated for dropping gerrard for the manc game so whatever he does he gets grief, the fact is if we had lost and gerrard didn't play you can bet he would have got **** and he is getting it for playing him today.
