Of course we do as we'll be trying to get rid of Borini, Balo & Co so those 3 need to be replaced. We won't be replacing all 3 with £20-30m strikers. I'd expect/hope we'll sign at least one in that price bracket though but we need British apparently & he's a cheap option will little risk.

I agree but we need shot of 3 strikers so he's hopefully the least of the ( hopefully 3 )incoming strikers.

If we get rid of some of our current back up strikers this summer, then getting Ings in as one (as long as we actually play our back up strikers next season) makes sense.

I agree about the money wasted last summer on back up players that did not get used even when needed.

Another good signing imo. Small steps but in the right direction.

He'll be more suited to our style of play so he's already an upgrade on Balloteli, Aspas and Borini.

We have Origi coming in already, so surely that's the squad player to replace Borini. I suppose if Ings is free then fair enough. Mario is going nowhere according to his agent and I can't see anyone coming in and taking him off us. I do wonder what the feck is going on with all the young players we buy every year. Where the **** are they all? Surely a few of your back up squad options should be kids already here.

I like the Milner deal as an addition, but if people think we're going to bridge the gap and get back into the top 4 with signings like Ings and Milner then they're sadly mistaken.

Utd have gone all out and will be adding quality again this summer, the other 3 will do too. We've got no chance of getting back into CL football unless we do something special this summer and signings of this calibre are not whats required IMO.

If we've got 3 top quality targets lined up, great, but we've all heard about these transfers in the media for the last 4 weeks and they've been bang on, which suggests they've been leaked to the media. We've not heard any consistent links with a top quality player yet, so I don't hold out much hope that anythings on the horizon. FSG seem to like to get their transfers done early.

10 things to know about Danny Ings

Liverpool FC have agreed a deal for Burnley striker Danny Ings, who will join the club when his contract expires on July 1, subject to a medical - here are 10 facts you should know about the 22-year-old.

Ings made his professional debut for Bournemouth, coming on as a substitute in a Football League Trophy clash with Northampton Town at the age of just 17.

His first goal in the Football League came against Swindon Town in February 2011.

As well as scoring on 11 occasions in the Barclays Premier League last season, Ings laid on four goals for his teammates.

The forward has been capped on nine occasions by England at U21 level, scoring four goals.

Ings averaged a goal from every 2.8 shots he took in his debut season in the English top flight.

He was voted the best player in the Championship as he helped Burnley win promotion to the Premier League in 2013-14.

In 2014, the Winchester-born striker launched his own charity, the Danny Ings Disability Sport Project, with the aim of providing coaching to children with disabilities.

Ings scored 43 goals in 130 appearances in total for Burnley over the course of four seasons at Turf Moor.

He has already gone some way to ingratiating himself to Reds, having scored against both Everton and Manchester United last season.

Ings failed to feature in just three Premier League games last season, when a minor hamstring issue kept him out of a trio of consecutive fixtures in late September.

Good søgning. Low fee, low risk and potential for development. If it doesn't become quite what we hope it's luckily east to well a decent Young English striker for good money these days! Aka look at last summer

I think this will turn out a very nifty piece of business and gives us much needed options up front.

Let's hope we have a marquee signing or two coming in. Miler, Ings and Clyne sounds like a law firm rather than PL footballers. Still I'm goingo be semi optimistic and hope we are just getting the easy deals over the line first. Those three plus Wisdom coming back means we are in a great position regarding any foreign quotas. We can almost field an entire team of British players.

Ward - Clyne - Wisdom - X - Flanno - Hendo - Milner - Sterling - Lallana - Ings - Sturridge, with Lambert on the bench as well as Allen. We just need to go for Shawcross and we are golden.

Happy with him, think he will do well.

Still need a better class striker in though.

I agree we need better if we are to get back into the CL. I forgot about Orighi coming in tbh. I hope Milner settles into our style of play, whatever that may be. I'm still hopeful the main targets are on their way soon enough.
