Especially when there's a quote from Ings around five posts up:

“I was coming from the centre of the pitch to the left-hand side running full tilt,” Ings says. “I received the ball on the inside of my right foot and as I came inside pressing off my left it got caught in an awkward position. I went and sat down.

He comes across very well in that interview
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Think so too, from the start he's been impressive both on and off the pitch. I didn't want him but I'm happy he's here. I was dead wrong about him.

Liverpool FC striker Ings will undergo surgery on Tuesday - but injury might not be as bad as first feared

Reds front man suffered 'clean' tear and has not given up hope of playing this season

Danny Ings will undergo knee surgery on Tuesday – and the Liverpool striker has not yet given up hope of playing again this season.

The 23-year-old suffered a partial tear of his anterior cruciate ligament in training at Melwood last week, and will go under the knife in London on Tuesday

Initial fears were that the problem could keep him out of action for up to nine months, ruling him out of the rest of this season as well as next summer's European Championships.

Ings, though, is targeting a swifter return. The injury is what is known by professionals as a “clean” tear, with the rest of the ligaments and muscles around his left knee unaffected by the issue in his cruciate ligament.

A clearer timeframe will emerge once surgery is completed, but Ings, who has been able to walk virtually untroubled since suffering the injury, is hopeful that he can make his comeback before the end of the season.

That will come as a boost to Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who also lost young defender Joe Gomez to a cruciate ligament injury last week.

And in an interview with the Daily Telegraph on Friday, Ings vowed to catch the German's eye by approaching his recovery with complete professionalism.

He said: “The only way I can get in his thoughts and show him what a good professional I am is the way I am in the gym or by being positive around the lads.

“Sometimes negativity can rub off on players and I don’t want to affect their performance. When you are injured you have to keep a positive mindset and keep moving forward.

“There will be a few down days when I am not feeling myself and I am gutted I cannot be out with the team.”

Gomez, meanwhile, is also due to undergo surgery this week, having suffered his own ACL tear playing for England U21s last Tuesday.

That's good news, still hard to know how quickly he'll get back of course.

His attitude is absolutely first class. He can still be valuable to the team in other ways and understands that. I hope he does a Texeira and recovers supernaturally fast!

I'd not seen enough of the lad before we bought him but based on other ppl on here's assessment I was underwhelmed when we signed him. Wow was I & they wrong. I've been really surprised with him & was really impressed with his efforts when I saw him in preseason out here in Oz. Can't wait for his return.

Danny Ings insists Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has nothing to worry about with regards to his rehabilitation from a knee injury.

The 23-year-old, who signed from Burnley in the summer, tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his first training session under new boss Jurgen Klopp – just days after he made his England debut in the 3-0 win over Lithuania.

It was a hammer blow for Ings, who is still awaiting the transfer tribunal that will set his fee for his move to Anfield, after getting into the Liverpool first team in September and scoring three goals.

“My dream as a child was to play for England and to represent my country and I got that opportunity,” Ings told the Daily Express.

“I had just got my foot in the door and all of sudden it was slammed on my toes.

“But I don’t think that dream is over for me. I am not one of those guys who gets a cap and I am going to fall away now.

“Hopefully when I am fit I can get back in the manager’s thoughts and see where it takes me. He left a voicemail message for me and some texts. It gives me fire in my belly to go again.”

Ings has not put a timescale on his return, but he is determined not to rush his rehabilitation and is aiming to come back stronger.

“When you do get injured that is when you really earn your money because you are in the gym and having to fight to get yourself physically ready to go back in and get back to the standard,” added Ings.

“Being here at Liverpool it is going to be important to make sure I’m eating right, sleeping right, taking my vitamins, doing my gym work, icing my knee and resting every day.

“Otherwise you are playing catch up. You have to be more dedicated when you are injured because there is more of a mountain to climb to reach the top.

“I think he (Jurgen Klopp) knows he doesn’t have to worry about me slacking off.”
Good stuff to hear, but could probably tone down the England stuff a bit......just concentrate on getting fit and playing again. Getting back to playing for us should be more than enough motivation.

At any rate, he could be back before Sturridge.
