    I think it probably will be the biggest tribunal fee but I'm not sure that it will be as much as Burnley are looking for.

    I believe that the record was £6.5m when Sturridge went from Man City to Chelsea, I imagine that Ings will probably end up costing somewhere between that and £10m I would guess at ~£8m*

      Here's some history on Ings below. The 400 to 500 page dossier is Burnley clutching at straws. IMO Bournemouth are the club who should be benefitting from this tribunal not Burnley. He came through Southhamton's and Bournemouth's youth system, not Burnley's

      Ings started his career with Southampton, before being released as a school boy

      He subsequently signed a two-year apprentice contract with Bournemouth in May 2008, having progressed through the club's Centre of Excellence. He had also previously had experience playing for the reserve side. He made his professional debut for Bournemouth on 6 October 2009

      His second season in the youth team was blighted by a long-term abdominal injury, which restricted his playing time. He remained with the youth team until the summer of 2010, when he signed a short-term three-month contract. He extended his contract in September 2010, until the end of the 2010–11 campaign.

      In September 2010, he was sent on an initial one-month loan to Conference South side Dorchester Town. November, his spell at Dorchester was cut short as he was recalled from his loan by Bournemouth due to an injury crisis at the club.

      On 30 November, he signed a new contract extension which lasted until 2012. His form saw him rewarded with a new contract extension, lasting until 2013

      In the summer of 2011, he was linked with reported moves away from Bournemouth with Celtic, Liverpool and Newcastle United. Premier League side Fulham also had a £400,000 bid rejected by the club.

      On 15 August 2011, Ings signed for Championship side Burnley for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £1 million, on a four-year contract. He rejoined former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe who had made the same move eight months earlier. He made his debut on 14 February 2012

      2012–13 season he suffered another serious knee injury in the final pre-season game. He tore the knee cartilage in the opposite knee to the previous season which resulted in surgery, keeping him out of action for up to six months. So he has a history of injuries to his knees

        I hadn't realised all that knee injury stuff.

            Two weeks away from training with the team, according to Klopp. They won't rush him back, but it's possible he'll already play this season.

                He'll come on and score the winner in the EL and Liverpool will then get banned for 10 years.

                    Tribunal hearing on Tuesday.

                    Explaining why it has taken 10 months to reach the tribunal stage, Burnley’s chief executive Dave Baldwin said recently: “The reason it is different to the ordinary is this tribunal claim will be the biggest in history. The key to this was that we bring the claim against Liverpool, therefore we had to prepare an extremely robust case.

                    “You’re talking a documentation bundle of probably in excess of 400 or 500 pages with witness statements, evidence, analytics about player performance, the statement as to why we make a judgment as to what we believe the player is worth, compared to what Liverpool want to offer.

                      So they've just got a bunch of people to say how great they think Ingsy is and some performance data?

                      He was only there for 3 or so years and would've already been 18. They're kidding themselves aren't they?

                        in reality, he would have been on something stupid like 4k per week there.

                        I think if we really wanted to challenge the whole thing, then LFC could push the whole thing to the european court of human rights. Just like Marc Bosman did all of those years ago, then surely we could very easily prove that if he was out of contract then he can walk away. The fact that Ings was under 23 is just ageist and shouldn't really matter. Surely with employment contract law you can't really discriminate on the grounds of age. It might take something like a stupid "pay Burnley £22m" ruling for the club to say "**** that" and push it all the way but for me, that is exactly what should happen.

                        Burnley are likely to say "we spent £9m on Ings replacement.......and even then he wasn't as good as Ings" but why didn't they tie Ings down to a longer contract when they first signed him for £1m then? The whole thing is a bit of a joke but I suspect that if Burnley had played ball a bit more, then they could have ended up with something like 6m and a couple of young players on loan (maybe Ojo, Randall and Teixeria?!?) to help them get out of the championship pronto (although it looks like they will do that anyway).

                        I hope they get something like their £1m back.......

                          What if you sign a player of a free transfer and then can't pay the compensation for whatever reason? What happens then?

                            I do find Burnley's stance a little odd here, we legitimately signed him, followed the rules and will head to the tribunal to argue the toss over the fee.

                            Here's the structure:

                            3. In making a determination as aforesaid, the Committee shall take into account the costs set out in Regulation 4 and any of the following criteria:

                            3.1 the status of each of the Transferor Club and the Transferee Club;

                            3.2 the age of the Player;

                            3.3 the Training Model(s) (as that term is defined in Youth Development Rule 1.78) on which the Player was engaged with the Transferor Club;

                            3.4 the amount of any fee paid by the Transferor Club upon acquiring the registration of the Player;

                            3.5 the length of time during which the Transferor Club held the registration of the Player;

                            3.6 the terms of the new contract offered to him by both the Transferor Club and the Transferee Club;

                            3.7 his playing record including any international appearances;

                            3.8 substantiated interest shown by other clubs in acquiring the registration of the Player.

                            4. The costs to be taken into account under Regulation 3 shall be:

                            4.1 any cost incurred by either Club in operating an Academy including (without limitation) the cost of providing for players attending thereat:

                            4.1.1 living accommodation;

                            4.1.2 training and playing facilities;

                            4.1.3 scouting, coaching, administrative and other staff;

                            4.1.4 education and welfare requirements;

                            4.1.5 playing and training strip and other clothing;

                            4.1.6 medical and first aid facilities;

                            4.1.7 friendly and competitive matches and overseas tours;

                            4.2 any other cost incurred by either Club directly or indirectly attributable to the training and development of players including any fee referred to in Regulation 3.4.
                            God knows what 3.1 alludes to...

                            However, with the previous record being just £6.5m I expect us to have to pay Burnley nearer £10m for Ings, perhaps with some of that dependent on player/club milestones.

                            There's no way it should have taken this long though, the FA and PL need to set a deadline for this kind of thing.
