A bit of me imagines the panel literally flicking through the pages with a tired exhale of breath, tossing it to one side and telling them 'you'll only get a little more than Liverpool offered as it was a good deal and you're wasting our time but you can still issue a press release to save face (or words to that effect)'.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yep, an extra 500k over what we offered defo fully justifies you dragging this out for well over a year. Fully!Meanwhile Burnely’s CEO, David Baldwin, said:
“We acknowledge and accept the tribunal’s decision.
“We feel we must reiterate this is an unprecedented record payment for training compensation and not a transfer fee.
“As the initial fee decided by the committee represents almost double the previous record for a tribunal, this fully justifies our decision to press ahead with what we felt was a fair reflection of the part Burnley Football Club played in Danny’s development.”Meanwhile Burnely’s CEO, David Baldwin, said:

Exactly. They should count themselves very fortunate.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI think Burnley are getting the money for nothing, which grates somewhat, but I'd have no issues paying 6.5m to the clubs that actually paid to train and develop him.
Fair play to them I suppose for persevering though, it's paid off for them.
