Hopefully we are padding the squad out with "freebies", who are on low wages (except Milner first teamer/big wages) & getting rid of the dead wood on the bench who are on larger wages.

Once that is done, surely we have to start adding at least 2 or 3 more experienced, quality players to our starting 11. We're in big trouble IMO if we don't do that. I'm relaxed about it at the moment, but if we are still signing this standard of player into the summer months... then I will worry.

I think the while spine is an issue. Priority for me was GK, CM, Striker.

Pad the squad with free signings, blow the budget on 2/3 top quality players. It's finally happening*

Honestly, I think the strategy used so far had been correct. It is exactly what we should be doing. Look for value for money signings to cover holes in the squad and then smash the budget and incoming money from sales on some real star quality.

I wish we'd do the same every summer. Of course, if we can't attract any top players and we just sign bang average, then that'll be why we fail. But it is a good start to the window.

I think it comes down to what we want. I watched the CL Final and ter Stegen for Barca was fantastic with his kicking. He'd be put under pressure and he'd just do an inch perfect pass to a midfielder or wide player.

Our problem is we wanted the same, but everytime the ball goes back to our keeper we lose it as he'd hoof it out or hoof it up to where we'd lose the airiel duel as we have quite a small team.

He's just not very good it seems but it's difficult for reserve goalkeepers.

Unmitigated, though inexpensive disaster. His confidence will be shot now also. Buying a keeper based on one good performance against us was always likely to end this way. We either need a better first choice keeper, or one that is going to put pressure on Mignolet - Bogdan is neither of those.

It's difficult for reserve goalkeepers. You need to keep your motivation somewhat and try to keep going.
