Gomez does not deserve to be dropped from the starting line up.

We have shown this season that we are not dropping off when Robertson is out and we are not dropping off when TAA is out.

The players who came in deserve a fighting chance to keep their places and should only lose them if their form dips.

For my money our team only has a few guys in it who could be said to be irreplaceable enough to warrant walking back into the starting line up after time out and those for me are Alisson, VVD and Salah. Think it is a great complaint to have when you have so many players capable of coming in when others are out and making positions their own.
Whether you agree or not, definitely think Trent falls into that category. Rightly or wrongly, am sure he walks straight back in, max 1 sub appearance if we are genuinely worried about his fitness.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Robbo would be straight back into the team...not to disrespect Gomez, but a naturally left footed player on that side would be a blessing. However, there will always be a place for Joe, whether it be giving Konate a rest or alternating with Trent/allowing Trent to drift into midfield more.

Oh I am sure in Klopp's eyes (and really those are the only peepers that matter) that is very true and that a fully fit (fully fit being the key words there as a not quite fit version might need a game coming from the bench to sharpen up)) TAA walks back into the team regardless of the form of others.

Same thing probably applies to Robertson in Klopp's opinion.

I was only saying the ones that are irreplaceable in my opinion. The ones whose absence cannot really be covered to the same level when missing.

TAA I think can be covered when out, maybe not in a like for like manner in terms of pure skill but we do have enough quality in midfield that we can bring in a guy like Gomez to cover the defensive side of things and the team as a unit does not suffer from TAA being out.

Whereas someone like Alisson being out cannot be covered in the same manner without the team unit being that bit weaker and I think the same still applies to Salah and VVD though not to the same degree as Alisson.

Depending on where Robertson is at fitness wise I think there will be a bit of a transition, I don't think we will put Robertson back into 2 games a week straight away, makes sense to ease him back in over a few weeks to a couple of months.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Have to be honest, if Robertson was back and fit I would love to see him at LB and Gomez at RB.

Then if midfield is fit go with a trio of

                Jones---------Szobo
                ----MacAllister-----

And what did you do with TAA, you utter ******* Doc? Did you hound him out of the club?

Well would pop him in as a RM or RAM whilst Salah is out so he would have both Szobo and Gomez behind him. Would not use him as a RW but allow him to play make from an advanced wider position and Gomez playing at RB would give him a defensive buffer and Szobo would be there to switch roles with TAA during games.

Robersons form has not been the best this season, imho. I would ease him back in. JoGo has been pretty solid if not spectacular. Would be inclined to give Beck a run out against Fulham

I don’t think it’ll be even slightly difficult. Once Robertson is properly ready to play, he’ll walk back into the side.

Pep talked about Joe moving central ant times ala Trent recently, in Trent’s absence Joe has been doing it from the left. I’m not sure robbo can do that so maybe his return will be linked to Trent’s return.

Robbo was very iffy before his injury so no guarantee that he will come back and be on top form.
I think he will be used as a 60 minute sub to rest Jomez and give Robbo some match time before he gets a start.

Yup, I would say if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

We can ease robbo back in and see how he gets on, but I would say unless he hits the ground running, Gomez should keep his place.

The one thing I will say though, is we would do well to keep Gomez injury free as he can be a top class backup to any position in defense. With Matip out, I think if Gomez got injured now too, we’d be very light for cover in center back. He has a very bad injury record so maybe we don’t want to overplay him either, if we don’t have to.
                              I don't tip

Trent and Robbo will walk back into the side, they shouldn't but they will but I do think Gomez has done a solid job coming in.
