hes coming back from england duty so he can have his ankle wrapped in vinegar and brown paper.
Liverpool's Joe Gomez has withdrawn from the England squad and returned to his club for further assessment of the injury he suffered in Friday's 1-0 friendly win over the Netherlands.
The 20-year-old defender sustained an ankle injury about 10 minutes into his third senior national appearance.

Could be that it wasn't that serious, just needed a rest, but playing those games aggravated it further.Originally posted by Norbs View PostUnless he sustained the injury vs WBA or Stoke then the headline is slightly misleading. If he needed surgery anyway then he's still done a decent thing by prolonging his season for as long as possible but the surgery would've always ruled him out at some pointIf we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

FFS. He was injured, so whatever level he was playing at and wasn't up to your standards as a young player, must have hampered him to show his best.Originally posted by labourRed View PostDisappointing, i wanted him to have a cracking world cup so we could sell him on, same for Lallana.
To be fair to him, when he was at his best this season he looked good. Are we winning?

He's still only 20 (turns 21 this month), he's still inexperienced and has had to deal with a long term injury. IMO people need to be more patient with these youngsters, defenders in particular tend to take a while to mature as a lot of the game of good defenders relies on experience and knowing what to do in various situations, and that takes time. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
