He was a good young prospect but injury has robbed him of one of, if not the biggest asset he had - pace. And also robbed him of vital development time.

So people keep saying, holding onto that that season beside peak VVD and the engine room midfield we had then. He is an awful CB imo that clearly hasn't been helped by injuries but his positional sense and beyond horrible and honestly he keeps on proving me right time and time again. No issues with having him as our 4th or 5th choice CB though as that's the standard he is :Originally posted by Irishnev View PostHe was garbage tonight and been ropey this season but I disagree about the career comment Dan - he was superb beside VVD when we won the league

Yep. He was Englands best CB back then. That last injury has really set him back.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostHe was garbage tonight and been ropey this season but I disagree about the career comment Dan - he was superb beside VVD when we won the league
I thought he was doing well at RB last season, he got a couple of assists and would be goood to see him in there to see if it shores things up a bit.Modifying post.

I might be over simplifying it but we need big strong lads - we miss Konate terribly. Matip was better when he came on and Joe is clearly 4th choice nowOriginally posted by danperkins View PostSo people keep saying, holding onto that that season beside peak VVD and the engine room midfield we had then. He also seems to be suffering from the same lack of concentration malaise as the rest. I think playing beside an awol Trent would make peak Baresi look **** now

Haven't seen a defender have an on field melt like that since Lovren against Spurs. There's **** and then there's what Gomez served up last night. Wow.
We can only pray Matip stays fit until Konate gets fit as Gomez looks broken."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

I thought he was terrible vs Everton & I wanted him hooked for Matip in that match. I was really surprised to see him rated an 8/10 & that was few confirmed on here by a few ppl who thought he did well. I’m glad I didn’t watch this match if everyone agrees he was pants last night.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

He should have cost us all 3 points by teeing up whoever it was.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostHe was decent v Everton, not outstanding but ok. He was directly at fault for two goals last night that took the game away from us (deservedly). The first one you have to clear your lines surely, the second he was bullied off the ball.
A bad night for him.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Fact is a decent striker would have buried it. Ppl keep saying he needs a run of matches to get back to his best & I don’t think we can afford him that luxury
