Lucas yes but I'd prefer to see what Wisdom does against harder teams in pre season before I waste Can there. He offers so much more in midfield.

Hope not. Vermaelen has been horribly injury prone since joining Barca and it is not as though he did not miss a fair share of time at Arsenal through injury either.

Yep lots of injuries (mix of niggling injuries and more serious ones) and a major drop off in form have been the strory of his last two or three seasons.

Unlike Vermaelen, who is a sicknote himself, Subotic has not offered quality play when fit during that time.

At least when Vermaelen is fit for a few games he actually is still capable of putting in a high enough level of performance.


Don't see the point in going after either though. We already have a quality centre back in Sakho who misses a lot of time through injury (and a young back up CB in Gomez who will by the time the coming season ends be likely to have missed close to two seasons worth of games for us) so we certainly do not need to be looking to be bringing in one from two guys who have a terrible record when it comes to missing games.

Our physios already get plenty of company each season through Sturridge, Sakho, Gomez etc., they really don't need the hassle of having to get even more biscuits and teacups in.

I think we'll see Klopp focus on using Wisdom to cover behind Lovren, Matip, and Lucas, until Gomez and Sakho return. It's an opportunity for him to impress.
