He was brought in as a CB, injuries have certainly hampered his development but he's still only 20

Im not sure youth has anything to offer a centreback role. Personally I would never play anyone in their early twenties or younger, unless it was a cup game or dire emergency... Unless they happen to be some kind of defensive god. I feel better about him in a rightback role. The experience will do him good though. Perhaps he can do a "Carragher" in a few years.

He's a centre back who can play at Fullback, the point on youth is more the fact he's had some bad injuries but is young enough to hopefully put them behind him.

You'd prefer he only got cup games and minutes here and there as a CB for the time being though

Id prefer he went on loan, but we simply dont have the cover. The only way a defender can improve his instincts is to play a lot. I dont think we can afford the potential for mistakes that youth may bring. Im talking positionally and not Lovrenesque ****ups.

But, yes. I would definitely play him in the FA cup and League Cup. Alongside Matip.
