TBH......he did have a couple of moments in the first half when they were pushed up right in our half, plus TAA was struggling down that side a bit more than usual, leading to uncharacteristic lapses in concentration.
That said, even in that first half he made his usual vital contribution, and even bailed out VVD at one point in the second half on a one-on-one.

Certainly not his best game, but as the game progressed, the defence shored up and he was as solid as usual.

The defence wasn't the issue yesterday but the midfield. Lost the ball in wrong situations which exposed the defence, which to be fair to them, they managed to deal with it somewhat (hats off to Alisson for a few critical saves).

I only saw the MOTD highlights but it looked as if he had a couple of sticky moments?

They did cause us some problems yeah but we dealt with it. I didn’t see all of the first half but I did see all of the 2nd but overall I liked what I saw from the lad.

Liverpool have never lost a Premier League game Joe Gomez has started at centre-back. He joined in 2015. (They have lost PL games he has started at right-back or left-back, but none since January 2018).

It's a good stat but somehow I can't take the it seriously when the 'bad part' win percentage 'just' 81%

Dejan played in the following when the title was far from won.

Started in the home win v Leicester.
Started in the home win v Spurs.
Started in the away win v Villa.
Started the home win v City.
Started in the away win v Palace.
Started in the home win v Brighton.
Started in the away win v Bournemouth.
Started and scored v Napoli at home.
Started in away win v Red Bull Salzburg.

These were some clutch games in our season, City and Leicester were massive at the time, nothing was certain.

He obviously also played v Watford 0-3, but he wasnt the only poor performer that day.

He's forth choice and is never an option off the bench as he takes a while to acclimatise. But he is the go to whipping boy for most, despite it rarely being fair.

Loren got more grief in a ten minute cameo v Everton where we didn't concede than Gomez did in a thrashing v City where we were 3 down at half time and Gomez played so poorly he was replaced at half time by Fabinho.

Gomez is the better player, but has had a few shockers (Salzburg, City) is also poor off the bench (CL Final - watch it) even Virgil has had poor games recently, yet Lovren is the only one people ever mention.
