It's never Stevie G's fault is it?

He's either playing out of positon and/or:
    Not used to maximum effect
    Too tired
Playing with poor players around him
    Etc
    Etc

The likes of Alan Hansen can't bring themselves to say he's in bad form,
end of flippin story, same with Rooney, same with basically all England players, the media will avoid criticising them at all costs

NOTE: this isn't an attack on Stevie Gerrard,
it's the media that just CAN'T bring themselves to criticise him and other players in the EPL :whatever:

It wasn't his fault today, there was no-one else playing.

I'm talking in general - it's never Gerrard's fault by the media, not just today.

He's been mediocre all season and he knows it. So does the press, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to encourage them to stick the knife in a bit.

Gerrard is great when things are going well, but he lets his head drop to easy!

He was poor again and the argument about CM or RW is irrelevant now. He has lost form since last season and is running out of excuses.

If this is true, he shouldn't be captain.

he didn't show up in the first half, looked better in the second, but still was piss poor like the rest of the team...

we seriously need to get our act together...

what ever it takes, i don't mind seeing us loose points if we actually deserve it, if we are playing to our full potential but are beaten by a better team, but that hasn't happened this year, in every defeat we have played poorly and have not been worthy, we need a first team player or someone in the backroom staff who can show then how to play with their heart on their sleeves and make them willing to fight for the red shirt...

but most of all we need to show our support...

Choose the sword, and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."

Stevie's POOR form is as much to blame for our current position as anyone

The next excuse will be because he has to readjust to central midfield.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

It will come to ahead and one of them will leave and i think Rafa has the balls to let him go.

He's not playing well if you look at it Sven acomadated him in the England team McClaren is doing it now and Rafa is doing it as well hes a great player but not World Class

He's been poor all season. He hardly even bothers to chase the ball sometimes. You can see him strolling along when about 5 yards away someone has the ball. I dont know but I figure someone getting paid as much as he is, playing for his favourite club in the world, AND having the captain armband.... I dunno. You shouldnt need any more bloody incentive then that. If he cant lift his act then he should go because right now he's dead weight and its really affecting the club. The last few years its all been Gerrad Gerrard Gerrard.

Obviously I know he can be legendary when he plays well. But he's not. Do you think of the team or the player? We can win without him just fine, and especially at this moment. We've got 2 excellent midfielders and we are in dire need of wingers. I think if we could get around 30mill for him we should let him go, patch up the wings with class signings, and that will be majority of our problems out the window.

Example being UTDs midfield. I dont class them as anything amazing. Infact some of them are very average. But they've got the players they need in all positions. We've only got them in half. Having the best player in the world in your team wont garuntee you wins against teams that have alot of good players in all positions.

Dont get me wrong, I'm saying out the door this minute, this instant. But if it does come to the point where he IS going to go and we're getting a fistload of money, I wont be that sad either. He's not getting any younger.

Stevie was average, but to be fair he did a much more disciplined job than usual. I actually think that it might be a good sign in terms of him being used in CM more long term. The problem yesterday was the **** movement of the front 4. Both wingers failed to offer themselves as an option often enough and when they did they rarely beat their man. Bellamy was too far up the pitch and both he and Kuyt failed to make much impression on the Boro defence, their movement was poor and their interaction worse.

The only players to put on anything like a good performnce were Agger and Crouch. It was a mistake to not play Crouch from the start.

SG is convinced or has been convinced that he is a world class central midfielder - a cross between someone like kaka and keane. he isn't - he's a powerful individual athlete with the ocasional ability to perform the spectacular. rafa KNOWS THIS FACT. a team cannot be built round someone like this. considering SG's past - defeatist talk in champion's league winning campaign, his two summer leaving media frenzies, i'm the man celebrations, even his autobiography - and the constant media frenzy about where he's played at the moment, i think from what we know of rafa, he is not the type of man to be impressed ith a player like SG and therefore would be glad of the opportunity to be rid of a problem that a supposed "asset" like SG provides.
