I don't think this is true, they're hardworking but definitely not defensive.



Last year he had Gerrard who was a lot deeper in front of him, he's done well so far, if he'd had swapped first half performances with Skrtel there would have been a meltdown.

I agree that they aren't defensive midfielders but they have been playing deep that has offered some protection for him. Different from last season.

Like I say, I'm not saying he's had a bad game. I'm just saying that the way we are playing now is better suited to him and if and when we change to a more attacking flowing style, hopefully, I think he will be found wanting again.
