I assume we are going to go back to a back 4 at the weekend, which makes going to a 3 today somewhat pointless. It wasn't even as if we had the players to play the formation we did tonight Ibe really isn't a wingback
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think Brendan is ****ing up Ibe's confidence, although comparisons with Sterling probably don't help.

Surely a manager should be telling Ibe to just get on the ball and run!

      ****in run Jordan boy!!

        Ibe is ****.

He is one dimensional and struggles to get past the defender and then always, always the camera goes to him and he's looking at teammates with that gormless look he always has!

        Arghhhhh **** off.

Ibe looks well out of his depth at the minute. I really do think he should've been loaned out rather than Markovic - although we have such a dearth of wide players we should've kept both.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He doesn't have that turn of pace over 10/15 metres. He's quick, but not that quick, so I think that's an issue when he tries to beat players. I reckon he would play more centrally in the future, as he's got a very good shot on him, and he's technically very good. Think he's wasted on the wing, or plays too deep in Brendan's system.

Couldn't agree more, I absolutely HATE it as a formation unless you have the best 2 wing backs in the world and a true sweeper in the middle, and even then some of the time. All it does is give the opposition a chance to overload down the wings and leaves the spare man uselessly sat in the defence. Too easy to defend against and extremely predictable in attack, it didn't work back in Roy Evans' day and it still doesn't work now imo.

37 years supporting this team and these performances are up there with the worst of them.
Well the result wasn't as terrible as the last couple so that in itself is an improvement. Giving several players like Sakho and Moreno who really should start at the weekend a chance to build up match fitness and stake their claims, even if only partly realised, is another plus.

The huge test for me will be the next 2 home games. Not only do we need results we need performances, a sign of something starting to come together even if it is hugely unlikely to get all the way there straight away.

Our control in games is what worries me the most, I can remember plenty of dull, insipid performances in that sort of game under every manager we've had in recent times, but the fact that so far this season despite the manager having every chance to change things up over the summer, we've essentially played to what looked like a real plan being well executed for only 45 minutes so far, that has to change.

Firminho and Benteke don't have blinding pace either. So, here's our problem.
Sterling is also a brilliant player who will get better and better if he keeps his head screwed on.

He is a great outlet for City and expands their attack hugely just a shame we couldn't have kept him.

Totally forgot this was on. Don't feel the least bit upset I missed it either. Thanks Brendan. Havent been this disinterested in watching us since Hodgson was here.

Was a very poor display, apart from Sakho and a few good exchanges between Lallana and Coutinho.. it was awful. As regards the kids in midfield, I thought they worked hard but looked way out of their depth. Our midfield tonight got ripped apart, we were lucky they had absolutely nothing up top & were left with aimless crossing and awful finishing. I also don't get that Gomez played well. I really like that lad and think he has a big future but I thought he was exposed several times and was awful for their goal. Given the defence was shuffled about 50 times during the game but IMO Gomez needs to be taken out of the firing line. Too many costly mistake recently, don't want his confidence to suffer.

IMO the back "4" formation vs Norwich should be Clyne-Skrtel-Sakho-Moreno, with Lucas infront. IMO that is most balanced and solid formation back there. Also starting to wonder about Can, was impressed with him initially at LFC but I just don't know about him. Jack of all trades master of none sounds harsh but he doesn't seem to specialise in any particular area. Early days but he would be the one I would remove from the midfield starting 11 at the moment.

Think it's counter productive to play Ibe wing back. Looked clueless defensively which is not his fault as he is no defender & was hardly able to get close to the opposition goal and show his stuff. Must be very frustrating for the lad. A point is decent and we were lucky to get that but it's just another broken display.

Can was awful. From being a man for all occasions last season, this season he can't seem to play anywhere. All game at RCB he was running away from his position to join arms with Gomez when it wasn't needed. Twice balls landed in exactly the place he vacated, and both times should have been punished with goals (one was).

Really enjoyed not having Toure on the pitch, Gomez running out with the ball was fantastic. Just as Bordeaux pressed us high, Gomez would simply stride out and have the forwards making energy sapping shuttle runs to get back. Sakho was immense and I felt let Gomez get on with it while offering support when needed.

Ibe is ****, he's worse than ****. I rated Rodgers and Ibe and look what's happened. I don't like any of our players anymore, they're all ****. Specially Sakho, Coutinho and Sturridge. ****.

With all the changes in personnel & the change in formation then the forced change in formation during the match it's understandable it was disjointed. We wanted to rest players & give the youth a chance & we got it. Don't know why we'd expect anything better performance wise personally.

I don't think it's understandable at all, that's a complete **** up by the Manager.

He's the one changing all the players and changing the formations all the time. He's the one buying 20 players every summer to replace one good one that we sell.

He's also done exactly what I've said several times we mustn't do. He's played all the kids instead of just playing a couple of them with senior players to guide them.

It makes it a lottery whether we will walk away with any points and does nothing to help the development of the kids. 4th season, no trophies and shown no wit in Europe.

We are Liverpool, we live for European nights.

                            It's like he doesn't give a ****.

If we can survive in Europe until FSG finally have the balls to do what they should have done in May then hopefully the new Manager can inspire the players to a Europa Cup victory.

A European trophy and entry to the Champions League.

I just cannot comprehend why he doesn't take this tournament seriously.

Not **** no, over-hyped for his age yes, over-hyped as the better of the two when selling Raheem to City yes, and way too much expectation for a kid in a team that's struggling for form and with a manager seemingly unclear about his own 'vision'.
