Moreno was outstanding, he's such a skillful player. Lucas never stopped, he was brilliant today. Much better performance. Sturridge could have had four or more if he'd been match fit, just hope he can keep going.

Sturridge makes such a difference, as does Coutinho playing deeper. It allowed for movement, and add Ings' workrate, it really ups the tempo overall. The performance was better, but it was a dire Villa side.

Sion at home and Everton away next.

Yeah **** knows what was happening there. Can and Mama werent good enough defensively today. This sort of **** is going to be punished heavily in the coming weeks.

Well, our play just clicks when we have that quality up front. It was a deserved win and an excellent performance judging the pressure the team was under, barring the first Villa goal conceded. Reprieve for Rodgers. More of the same please. Sturridge must be kept fit ffs.
            Are we winning?

i'm giving my opinion...i don't like Rodgers he's a blagger...Ings and Sturridge only played due to injuries not a good managerial desicion

Defensively suspect again tbh, some of it is just really bad decision making by individuals but regardless we're going to be in all sorts of trouble if it continues.

Relentless, all that was said was Sturridge had made a difference.

Also, 3 at the back gives us a good balance. It opens up the pitch for us and stretches teams, especially with Moreno's pace. That was a positive in an attacking sense for us, but we need to carry this forward and eradicate the silly mistakes at the back.

We needed that. Its only villa but at least its something.

Sturridge and Ings look a great pair. Very mobile. Makes you wonder what the **** Brendan was doing spunking £32m on Benteke.

Ings is looking excellent...I've massively underrated him I think.

                        Lucas was great today too.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Good win. Sturridge is class, both his goals were great he makes it look effortless.

Terrible defending on first goal for them. Nobody picking up the runners.

I worry we are ruining Can playing him back there. He's not a centre back - why not play Gomez who is?

Second goal was a beast of a header from a great cross. Maybe you need more from the defence, but it was some header.
                          Modifying post.

Lovely link up between the two of them.

Tbf we needed another striker coming in, risk banking on Sturridges fitness - whether Benteke was the right Man is a different discussion.

                              Well.........

When teams defend deep we struggle to break them down. When Villa started to open up slightly we cut them to ribbons. Overall an impressive display it has to be said.

I think when Rodgers gets the boot, he will look at the signings he made and his obsession with 433 and have plenty of regret. At least, I hope he does if he's to succeed as a manager.

                              On specific performances:

Lucas was a beast. I'm not a huge fan, but when put in a position that suits he is still a quality player. He did well in this same formation last season when fully fit.

Sakho got bullied by Gestede today, needs to have done better. If that'd been Lovren today he'd have got pelters.

Sturridge is class. And he combined as a front two very well with Ings.
                              Forwards.......

Agree on the Can point, not where we should be playing him especially with Gomez in the squad.
