It's pretty incredible we are fearful of these. Tim 'you ****ing cunt' Howard is past it. They have a depleted defence, Barry is well past it. Failed strikers in Naismith and kone failed **** strikers playing as inverted wingers and the ultimate troll striker who is great one game, terrible the next.

That could be their undoing, their fight compared to our lethargy might see them get a few players sent off, and that could be the catalyst for us to steal a point
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think we'll win this. Their quality is being massively overstated in my opinion.

I think we're more fearful of our team & manager.... we seem to shoot oursleves in the foot either by making mistakes or through absurd formations & selections
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Hoping for Sturridge Ings and Coutinho to have a blinder and create loads of chances like last week and put a few away.

Would love for Brendan to change to a flat back four again to surprise Everton and go with the Diamond

Do you guys think he'll play two up front? when was the last time we played with two strikers against a top 10 team?

Going to the Local to watch this and have a few beers watch us batter the bitters and the Arse beat the Mancs.

Sturridge finally get his hat-trick he owes them and Walcott do the same to the **** teams we are facing.

Stagger home drunk about 7ish and fall asleep on the settee soon as I sit down.

If Carlsbergs did sunday sessions this could be probably be the best sunday session for a while.

We could lose the Derby 10-0 and he'd still think he was the best man for the job. He'd still point to coming second and will play the tune of giving him top players and he'll give you performances.

Sorry Brendan. But at Liverpool for the foreseeable you're not going to get genuine world class talent. You need to get them performing better than they are capable. I don't think he can do that. I don't think he did it in 13/14 either. Others could argue he did, but even if we let that one slide, that's still 2 and a bit seasons of underperforming, or at best - Par.

I reckon Brendan could go to Bayern & win the league as he's a good coach who can do a decent job. But he's not good enough to raise a team beyond what it's capable. Many suspected he had at Swansea - since he left they've improved.

Everton will be a big test for him. We've looked weak whenever teams have had a go, I fully expect Everton will be right on us and will look to give us a proper beating. They'll not sit back & allow us to be comfortable. Nor will Spurs at White Hart Lane in the game after the international break.

We've had it easy for a couple of weeks and still couldn't get decent results. It's gonna go up a notch now. I don't think this team is ready for the acid test just yet. And I don't think any fans will appreciate any sort of defeat in the Derby to carry around for the whole international break.
I agree with most of what you say. And the point about Swansea actually improving since Brendan has left them is a really really good point as well....

However, the bit about teams having a go at us i'm not so sure. If Everton go for it against us, i think it might end up being a game of pinball for about half an hour but i think that will actually suit us. Teams like West Ham where they have been happy to sit back and wait for one of our defenders to make the obligatory **** up and take either 1 or 3 points is where we have come undone. Against United - we tried to do to United what West Ham did to us. But our defenders made some stupid individual errors and our attackers couldnt take chances (like Firmino at the far post) when they did come our way.

I don't think we are capable of keeping a clean sheet but i actually think it might help us play away from home as opposed to at Anfield this weekend. They will have a go at us, and we will then hopefully have the space to counter that.....

so why spend £millions on defenders then

Bobs right, it is all about scoring goals in the premier league. Has been for years. However as we are seeing lately, when you play in European competition the inability of English teams to defend well is continually exploited.

that is probably why Man United were so ****in successful over the last 20 years.....they ALWAYS had goals in their teams.... but they were only really successful in europe when they had Stam and Johnson in the late 90s and then Vidic / Ferdinand partnership in the late 00's.....

Even brendan said it last season when he was trying to justify our car-crash of a season - he basically came out and said "we can see where the issues are.....we just need to score more goals" The idea being that Firmino and Benteke would bring attacking impetus to our floppy cock of a team and along with Sturridge then we could be cooking on gas. With Ings and Orgy in place to provide back up for when the injury prone Sturridge or the injury prone Benteke got injured.....

for brendan to come out then after the villa match and say "we're ****ed without sturridge" is just plain stupid.

I hate derby day at the best of times. But right now I'm dreading it more than ever.

As others have said, we struggle when times come out at us, pressure us. We don't have the fight, we don't have the leadership and we don't have the quality to rise above it and out play them

Added with a keeper and defence that are defo going to concede at least one. Just reckon we will get done.

The only hope I'm clinging to is the old cliche that for Derbies the form goes out the window and everyone is expecting Everton to do us.....if, we can somehow get coutinho involved and create a couple of chances for Sturridge then who knows.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I'm absolutely looking forward tot his match, win or lose. Can't wait! If we win, rodgers will come out with a villa style fist pumping. If we lose I'll still get some blessed quotes out of him for my entertainment.
