He mentions losing 4 players that meant a rebuild was needed and I can't think who the 4th is after Suarez, Gerrard and Sterling. Agger? Needing to rebuild after losing Sterling is a bit exaggerated imo too

It was only Suarez, Gerrard has been ín a slow decline that Rodgers BTW didnt manage too well. Maybe he is refering to Sturridge being injured. That too was a sityation we could have prepared for better.

Carragher? He mentioned losing the two big local lads Gerrard and Carragher in the build up to the Derby
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

When James Milner is your captain and stalwart, you know you've hit the big time

Seriously though, I know he's a good player, but that's just it, he's not a special player for me and his huge presence in the team this season epitomizes the mediocrity Rodgers was taking us into.

Thing is, we should have signed a midfielder in the summer. I think me and Foggy and a few others were saying all along that Milner's not the answer to the CM position.

I wouldn't be surprised if Can is promoted to CM and Milner becomes more of a fringe player but will still play his part in our season.

Our midfield now this season surely has to be Henderson and Can.

if it is Klopp, i hope he brings Hendo more out of his shell a bit, i'm not saying he's shy, but i always get the feeling he's holding something back personality wise, and bringing that out could be the true making of him.

Obviously i could be way off with this, just a feeling i've had about Hendo.

At present Milner is a much better player than Can.

Let's stick Milner in defence for three out of four games and see how he does.

I thought Milner played some great passes yesterday, and on occasions, got into some great positions. The problem for me is that I don't think he understands his role in the team fully. He's trying everything, and it's becoming a bit muddled.

He's a good player but my issue was more to do with captaincy and supposed spine of the team. I agree that he seemed confused with his role and it seemed that we were overcrowding our right hand side with Clyne, Milner and Can all getting in each others way. It was painful to watch.

Also, let's be honest he's not the most charismatic character and when you've got him as captain...I could imagine some really inspirational stuff in the dressing room

It was mentioned in another thread, but someone like Sakho would be a much better captain, imo. A bit of ooomph!

It's just all typifies the blandness at the club this season
